(Emma's POV)
As I gallop on the horse back to the palace, snow starts to fall. It is a stark reminder of what I must face in a few moments. I have to meet my parents and talk to them like any daughter would. I'm not sure how I will do it but hopefully I can pull through.
I put the horse back into the stables and rush up to meet them. As soon as I open the doors to the great hall, I am embraced in arms.
"Don't leave like that love." Killian hugs me tightly and his chin rests on my head.
"Sorry, I just needed some time to think." I hug him back and let out a long breath. "Let's go meet my parents."
He smiles and wraps my hand in his. We walk up to a balcony overlooking the garden. Brennan and Eva are making small talk with Snow and David. Or my mom and dad. I think as many times I say it, it will always sound alien to me.
They turn around once they hear us approaching. My parents slowly approach us and they almost seem nervous to approach me. "So it's true isn't it?"
I move closer and they slowly wrap me in their arms. They both have tears flowing down their faces. David presses his lips up against my head and I can't help but feel at home. I hug them tighter and tears start to flow down my face as well. "Mom. Dad."
"You are so beautiful." Dad says. "You made your way back to us just like we knew you would."
"Wow." Eva says. "Look at this. A family united at last. It's beautiful isn't it?"
I smile as we split.
"Speaking of families uniting," Mom says. "I believe my daughter is a soon to be bride. Any wedding plans?"
Killian looks to me and blushes. "Not yet. We are pretty early along in everything."
"Not to worry. But let me just say I think I know True Love when I see it." Mom says as she looks at Dad. I look at Killian and he tries to hide his smile. I blush.
Eva smiles. "Well how about all us girls have tea while David gives Killian a protective dad speech."
I giggle and walk up to Killian. I give him a quick peck on the cheek and whisper. "Good luck."
We walk away and start the girly chit chat.
"So, how are you and Killian?" Eva asks. "I heard he planned quite a romantic date last night."
"It's good. Everything is good." I start. "But I'm honestly a little hesitant on it. I just met him and now we are planning our wedding. It is a little crazy isn't it?"
"It is." Mom comments. "But that doesn't mean your feelings mean anything less. I saw the way he looks at you. He is head over heels! If that isn't love I don't know what is."
Eva grabs my hand in hers. "It's alright to not be sure of what you feel. It's human. I definitely think that eventually you will learn to love him as much as he already loves you. All you have to do is open up your heart to him."
"Thank you. I think I needed to hear that." We continue onto Eva's parlor where the tea is waiting for us. I think I have an idea. It is outside of my comfort zone but maybe that is what I need right now.
(Killian's POV)
King David, my father, and I walk to fathers large office to talk. I can't imagine the talk I'm about to get. I'm possibly weeks or months from marrying Emma and her father must not like that. As soon as the doors close to the office, my body goes stiff.
"Killian," David says. Here it comes. "Thank you." Wait what? "You brought Emma back to us. I don't think we could repay you enough for such a deed." He brings me in for a hug. I return it awkwardly.
