(Regina's POV)
I wake up before Zelena and the birds are chirping. It is the start of a good day hopefully. I get out of bed and walk down the stairs. It doesn't seem like mother is awake. I am in the kitchen when I hear sweeping. The noise leads me to Emma.
"Em, what are you still doing here? Why haven't you left to profess your love to the prince?" I ask.
She gives me a questionable smile. "The prince? Are you serious? Why would I ever love the prince?"
"You've got to be mad! You know, the prince of our kingdom who proposed last night at the ball?" My eyebrows quirked upwards.
"You must've gone to bed very late last night to have such a wild idea like that." She goes into the kitchen and starts making me breakfast.
"Emma, what has gotten into you?" I grab her shoulder.
"Nothing. Today is just a normal day." She smiles and continues to cook. I keep trying to remind her of her love but nothing works. She keeps telling me to eat and I do just to get her to shut up.
"Emma, I'm going to go on a horse ride. Tell mother and Zelena if they wake before I return." I say as I quickly run to the stables and grab Emma's horse. I ride as fast as I can through town until I reach the palace. I see Robin waiting outside of the gates for me.
"Regina, I was scared you weren't going to show up." I get off of the horse and he pecks my lips. "You seem worried! What has gotten you so down?" He caresses my face.
"I need to talk to the prince. It's about the mystery princess." I say quickly.
"What?! Have you found her?!"
"Yes but there is a problem. She is my sister from adoption but when I asked her about going to see the prince she didn't remember anything of what happened last night! I need him to help her. I fear this action is from my mothers doing."
"It is quite a tall tale but I believe you. Come with me! We shall fetch Killian." He grabbed my hand and we walked inside the castle. This place is even more splendorous in the daytime. We walk up numerous staircases and never-ending hallways. We end up in the dining room where Killian is sitting, eating in a hurry. Robin and I approach him.
"Killian, I have someone here to see you." Robin says.
Killian huffed. "I'm sorry Robin but unless it is Emma I do not want to know. I have to focus on finding her." He got up to leave.
I shook my head. "I'm sorry, your highness, but I am here to deliver news on her whereabouts." He looked me in the eyes.
"You know where she is?" His face showed a mix of happiness and worry.
"Yes." He grinned widely. "But there is a catch..."
"What is it? I need to know so I can find her."
"She is in my family's manor. She has been our maid for most of her life..." I try to continue but he interrupts me.
"You! You were the one that hurt her. You gave her the whip markings on her back. How could you?!" He yells.
"It wasn't me. It was my mother and I'm afraid she has attacked once more." His face went deathly pale.
"What has she done to her?" He says in a scared tone.
"I am afraid she is enraged that my sister and I hadn't caught your attention last night. She feels that someone like Emma doesn't deserve happiness. I fear that my mother has taken away Emma's memories.... of you."
His face fell and by the way his body was taken back, you could tell how much this broke his heart. You would think that a royal would learn to control their emotions but he must've not have been able to keep it together. His eyes were starting to water. She shook them away and started to run outside.
