his smile came to his memory. his broken smile. he remembered of feet climbing the wooden stairs. he remembered of crouching behind the closet. he remembered of red socked feet. Of leather belts being lashed on his knee caps. Of beer bottles and weird rod shaped pills.

"You killed him," he whispered in his ears. Standing there on the roof, his words sent a shiver through his body. A chill that seemed to defeat him.

"You took away a life. Now it's your turn to die," he breathed in his ear. his words were no longer sane. It sounded sinister. It sounded like death. he felt helpless.

he heard this father's laughter. his light hearted cheerful laughter. he felt a pair of strong hands on his back. Palms flattened widely on his torso before the grip turned powerful and hungry.

A deadly deliberate push. Neither small nor forceful. his feet flew from the slippery roof. his vision of the world gyrated before him.

The last thing he saw was that lone bright star shining amidst the grey mist.
