Kaya pov:
"Ah....I hope I don't ever have to attend another banquet again. That was so exhausting." I mumbled to myself.
I stretched my arms upwards and also turned my neck from side to side to ease the stiffness in my body. I covered my mouth with one hand as I yawned. I shook my head with a sigh at how drained I was today. I was planning to read one of the books I had brought along with me but with the way I was ready to fall asleep just standing or walking as I am, I decided to get some good shut eye.
Just as I was about to take a turn in the corridor, I heard someone call out the words 'hey you!' through the hallway. Turning around, I saw a Supreme standing near one of the open room doors and looking at me. I looked behind me and to my sides making sure that I was the one he had called out to. There was no one else in the hallway besides me so give a slight shrug, I walked to him and gave a chaste bow.
When I was close enough, I realized that it wasn't just any Supreme who had called me – it was the minister of the lord of the Bear Beast Clan. I remembered that because Lord Sil was especially sharp tongued with this guy and his lord and neither party seemed happy to have met face to face.
I noticed the minister look over me and swallow thickly. I was sure it was because of the scent of my blood – it was a reason I had heard far too many times from people I knew in this world. It was also because I received these kinds of stares very often from many Supremes living in Silverwyvern Castle. Despite the way any Supreme stared, none of them dared to touch me because they didn't want to experience the wrath of Lord Sil.
The minister who stood in front of me too was controlling himself so he wouldn't get caught in any unnecessary trouble. However, the was also giving me a disapproving frown because I stood with my head held high and my eyes boring right into his sharp brown ones.
"You should know better than to disrespect a Supreme, human!" He sneered. "How dare you meet my eyes! Do you not know who I am?!"
I resisted from rolling my eyes at his haughty attitude. I didn't lower my head but I did avert my gaze from his to look at the wall behind him. He scoffed at my indifference but held out a piece of paper to me instead of dragging on an argument between us.
"I want you to give this message to the Supremes in the second room on the right after that turn. Tell them that it is from Lord Claude of the Bear Beast Clan and that whatever is written in here is to be finished through tonight." He said and motioned to the corridor on the left with his head.
I narrowed my eyes slightly while meeting his eyes again because I found his behavior odd. He had been acting strange even when Lord Sil had met him during the banquet. He had said some strange things to Lord Sil, like 'you shouldn't be too prideful because it will lead you to your fall' and 'it won't be for very long that you look down on others around you' and so on. Something about this guy wasn't right – he was giving me bad vibes.
"I understand." I said simply and took the paper from him.
I suppose it didn't matter what I thought about him. I mean, a lot of Supremes gave me bad vibes and this guy was probably just one of them. After all, from the way Supremes had been described by the people I lived with in the Art House in Silverwyvern Castle as well as Hale who I had met only recently, not all Supremes were decent like Lord Sil. So there was nothing strange about me getting bad vibes from this guy too.
Besides, I don't think there was any reason for me to get so worked up about delivering a message, right?
I gave the minister a chaste bow and walked away from him. I headed down the hallways towards the room he wanted me to deliver the message to. I glanced back at his room before I could turn around the corner but the door was shut and he wasn't standing there to keep an eye on me like I thought he would.
