Edd was livid. The betrayal he just found out about pissed him off. What pissed him off more however, was the fact that he was still willing to forgive Kevin. He wanted to put the past in the past and move on with his life. He said the whole drug situation was Kevin's one and only chance but with this new information....maybe one more chance wouldn't hurt.

Kevin's Emerald eyes were filled to the brim with tears as they spilled out seeing the look of absolute fury on his lover's face. Once those tears hit the floor Edd's face softened a little, though he resisted the urge to reach out and comfort the red head. A long moment of silence took over the room. Anytime Kevin went to speak, he was immediately shushed. "I'm thinking." Edd claimed every time. A list of pros and cons raced through the small raven's mind as he tried to think of a reason to stay. At this point he decided his love was enough, at least for now. "You can't even touch another woman or man again. One chance. One last chance. Any drugs, any sex, any form of cheating and we are done." Edd said with a straight face.

A weight felt like it was lifted off of Kevin's shoulders. Immediately he embraced his lover. The ginger thought this would have been the end so he prepared for the worst only to be pleasantly surprised. He knew Edd was serious however and he was determined to gain his trust back.
"Let's go to a club, test me." The ginger said with a grin. "Besides, I want to dance with you." He finished.

Edd was hesitant, a night out did sound nice just not for tonight. "I think we should spend a quiet night in...." the dork said with a small squeeze to his fiancé. "I think we both need a night in, just us." Of course Edd got his way. The two spent the night curled up watching movies. Kevin kept trying to make advances only for his hand to be playfully swatted away. Long tanned freckled arms wrapped themselves around his smaller lover as the two remained in a long embrace for hours. Once the movie was finished, they stayed in that warm hold. Edd was reminded on why he stayed and Kevin was reminded on why he was going to give everything up. The small raven turned in his lover's arms. Peaceful blue met apologetic Emerald before lips pressed together in a kiss that said "I'm sorry." Kevin was no saint but neither was Edd. He knew he hasn't been making an effort lately and even though he fully knew this situation wasn't his fault, he knew it has a small part. He also understood how awful this past year has been for his fiancé. Speaking of a hard year.....

"Merry Christmas babe." Kevin said with a sly grin as he slipped a new ring onto Edd's finger. This time it had an emerald along with a sapphire to match their eyes. On the inside it read "Forever, babe." Along with their initials. The smile that swept across the raven's face could have lit the whole town brighter than any Christmas light display. Edd almost forgot the whole reason he went up to see Kevin was because of the holidays. "When I opened up to you about everything I was afraid I would have to find a way to sell this ring....in the end I would probably keep it though, for memories sake. Edd, I messed up a lot this year. It was our first full year together and I was just so worried about the future. It's no excuse but-" The ginger was surprised when he was cut off with a soft kiss.

"It's a good enough excuse for me so quit dwelling on the past. Let's move on to the future." Edd assured him with a smile. Those smiles, those kisses, that long embrace. That was all the two needed to have a merry Christmas. "If only things could stay like this forever." The two thought.

Yes, if only things could stay like this forever. Kevin might be on his best behavior when his fiancé is around but the worst was yet to come. He was about to be alone on the hardest day possible, New Years Eve.

Kevin was no saint but neither was Edd. Although the small Raven swore up and down that he would make a better effort to at least text his lover on New Years Eve, work got in the way. For Kevin, one beer turned into two and eventually it turned into a 6 pack and half a bottle of expensive vodka.

"Why are you so heartless Kev?" A familiar voice slurred out. "Nazz?" The ginger asked confused as he turned his head in the direction of the voice. "What are you on about?" He groaned only to be met with a sigh. "You haven't even looked in my direction since before Christmas I was so worried that you died since you haven't been at work for a week now. Look at you, you're being pathetic. What did your little boyfriend leave you or something?" Nazz scoffed. She was met with a cold glare and silence before the ginger looked away. "My parents died one year ago today, thanks." He mumbled. Nazz rolled her eyes and snatched the bottle from Kevin before he could take another sip. "Okay and? I get that you're upset but at this point you'll drink yourself to death!"
"That's the plan." The redhead grumbled trying to take the bottle back, only to be slapped across the face. "Sober up big red. You don't want that little Raven to find you dead or hear the news you're gone, do you?" Nazz asked with a glare back.

Kevin sighed and rolled over on his couch. "Edd wouldn't even care. He hasn't even tried to talk to me today, he's so busy with school that he wouldn't notice. Just like-"
"Just like what? Just like how the rest of the world wouldn't notice? Cut that shit. We've all been there before and the truth is people would notice and care. Don't you dare think no one would notice because even if no one else would, I would. So get up! We are going out for a friendly night on the town!" The blonde said pulling at the ginger's arm.

Kevin groaned. "I would say fuck off but I already know you won't leave." He said more to himself as he lifted himself up off the couch. He knew tonight was going to be a hard night but at least he knew one person cared and even though it wasn't the most ideal person he's happy enough to see where this night would take him.
