Edd woke up to his phone buzzing. When he looked over he groaned seeing none other than his mother calling him. He hesitated for a moment before finally answering....instantly he regretted it when he heard what she had to say.
"What do you mean I have to come home and watch the house for the weekend? It can be left unattended! It's not like we have any-" he was immediately cut off by the phone clicking. He knew he had no choice but honestly, he didn't want to go. He's been avoiding the house like the plague ever since the debacle that was the last time he visited home. On top of that, him and Zach had plans this weekend that he didn't want to have to cancel.

The raven sighed and pushed his food around his plate in the cafeteria. He was distracted with his thoughts on how he would get through this weekend in that house alone. A chair across from him scraping against the floor diverted his attention to the brunette now sitting in front of him. "You look down Edd, what's wrong?" He asked concerned. Edd's icy blue eyes shifted to meet blue-green ones and before he knew it, he forgot his problems. The raven smiled as he finally took a bite of his food. He had an idea, an idea that was risky but he knew this idea would work. He took a deep breath in, "will you come to my hometown with me this weekend? My mother needs the house to be watched and I really don't want to have to cancel my plans with you. Besides, it could be a nice little getaway from here." He asked and explained quickly before analyzing the brunette for a reaction. When he saw dimples appear, he knew this weekend would be a good one.

Since it was already Friday, the two didn't have much time to pack and re-group.
Zach met at Edd's dorm with his little duffel bag ready for this weekend trip. Zach was honestly interested to see the Raven's hometown and his childhood home as well since they are still in the early stages of getting to know each other. Zach really likes Edd and he was willing to do anything to show just how much he would be there for him. Even if that meant sitting around in a house all weekend...he knew he could find a way to make it memorable.

Edd was relieved to see the brunette actually at his dorm's door, he wanted to get this over with so without saying a word, he grabbed his keys and walked towards his car as Zach followed.
Once they made it Edd was hesitant to actually go into his house but he didn't want to show he was distressed especially in front of Zach so he took a deep breath before unlocking the door and walking in.

It was like walking into his past. Memories flooded his mind and made it hazy as he stepped in. The couch, the couch he and Kevin had shared so many movie nights on. The kitchen, the place they cooked meals together with smiles, the bedroom....well, you can only guess the me memories shared in there. It was a lot...almost too much especially now that he had the truth.

Zach noticed the change in Edd's posture and he noticed how upset he looked so he reached out to place a hand on his shoulder. He was surprised when the Raven's hand reached up and landed on top of his own. He then knew there was so much more to this weekend than he thought. He wanted to know but he didn't want to press so he moved his hand and walked ahead of Edd, wandering around the house. "Nice place." He said trying to break the silence. "It's so clean!" He tried again after no response. He looked back to see Edd just standing there. Zach sighed a little as he walked back placing both hands on the Raven's shoulders. He leaned down to make eye contact, only to be avoided. "Go sit down, I'll make some dinner." He was finally met with a nod. The brunette smiled before heading into the kitchen.

Edd sat down. Everything was going in slow motion for him. He heard Zach in the kitchen but his mind kept making him think it was someone else...someone who he shared this home with. He brought his knees to his chest trying so hard to not think of the memories.

This was going to be a long weekend.
