After finally deciding to get his shit done and get up, Jack looked in every room in this damn huge school, he still couldn't find Mark. The only place he didn't look at was the roof, above the three surprisingly high floors in this roof, that was an open space. He didn't want to go up there, and he kept telling himself that he can't do it and that Mark won't be there anyway. But now, he figured, that's the obvious place for him to be, him liking to be out in the fresh air, even if there's snow outside.

So, Jack got to his locker, took his giant black umbrella, and went up stairs to the roof. As he opened the door that held him in and got out, he saw Mark, sitting on the edge, looking at the city from above. Jack didn't really know what to do, so, first, he opened his umbrella to shield himself from the snow. He slowly walked over to the only other person in this school, though he didn't say a word. Jack sat carefully next to Mark on the edge, just telling himself to not look down, then he won't fall.

After a couple of quite seconds of Mark just staring at the city, and Jack trying to hold the umbrella above both of them, Mark sighed and startled Jack. "You must have realize how much of an idiot you were." He said, not moving his gaze from the sight before them. "I know your biggest fear is from heights." That made Jack confused. Only the mystery guy knew that. "And.. I guess I need to hear your side of the story too. I know it's only fair." Mark turned around a bit, now facing Jack. From some reason, looking at Mark's eyes; full of seriousness, and a little bit of care for Jack and his fears, made Jack blush.

"Well, actually, I have nothing to say to defend myself.." Jack sighed. "You're right. I was about to ask you why the hell are you kissing her, when other people started to scream at you, so I guess I just went on with them. I was terrible, I know, and I regret it. I had no idea she was the one that kissed you, but I can see why she did that." Mark looked at Jack, confusion written on his face.

"I mean, look at you. You're much better looking than me, and you're caring, and nice to people. You're a great person, and I'm not even human." Jack sighed again and looked down, this time more sadness is put in this one little sigh. Mark thought for a minute before answering. "Maybe you're wrong." Jack looked back at Mark, raising his eyebrow. "You made a mistake, and you were wrong. But you know you made that mistake, and somehow, in your way, you're trying to fix it. That's what makes people humans. I think." A small smile appeared on Mark's face.

"Does that mean.." The same little smile appeared hesitantly on Jack's face, and Mark's only got brighter. Mark nodded. "Yes, I forgive you." Jack's face lit up. "I would crush you with a hug right now, but I'm too afraid to move." He said nervously. Mark chuckled and got up, offering a hand to Jack. "Come on, let's get in and get warm." Jack took Mark's hand in his, and he slowly got up from his last position. The two boys got in the school, both almost freezing from the cold. Jack got his umbrella back in his locker, after they got out the bags with the clothes.

"Well, what are we supposed to do now?" Mark asked, looking at Jack. Jack's ears and nose were a light pink from the cold, matching his cheeks. "I'd kill for a hot chocolate right now." Jack chuckled. "Well you don't have to kill. I'm sure we can make it in the little café in the school, come on." (I don't know if you have those instead of a cafeteria but that's what we have so just go with it) Mark took Jack's hand, the motion causing both of them to blush.

They got to the café, and made hot chocolate for both of them in this weird machine, almost completely braking it. Now, they're sitting in a small couch there, sharing a small cake. "So, how are we gonna get a shower? Where are we gonna sleep?" Jack asked before sipping from his cup, feeling the warmth of the hot chocolate inside him. Mark frowned a bit, thinking as he took a bite from the cake. "Well, we can shower in the showers in the gym. I don't know where does this school have beds." Jack took another sip from his steaming drink.

"Um.. There's one bed at the nurse's office, we can sleep in it." Jack's face turned a bright red after he said that, and he noticed Mark's too. "I guess so.. There's no other option." Mark looked down, the half eaten piece of cake suddenly seemed really interesting. Jack couldn't see, but Mark was smiling slightly. He knows why he broke up with Nate. Mark got his old crush on Jack, but this crush was on the Jack he talked with on Kik, not the one he screamed at about an hour ago. He couldn't decide which one of them was the Jack that's in front of him right now.

"Hey, I have a question." Jack said after a couple of quite seconds. Mark looked up at him, gesturing for him to continue. "How did you know I'm scared of heights?" He asked, still thinking about the fact that he only told the mysterious guy about this fear. "Well, you said it once when we talked in Kik." Mark blurted out, not noticing what he said before he heard himself saying it. Jack was dumbfounded.

"B-but I only t-told him that.." Jack mumbled quietly. "You're him, right?" He asked, raising his voice a bit. Mark hesitated. How would Jack react? What if Jack will get mad for keeping it a secret, or will he be happy that it's Mark? Mark sighed. "Yes, I guess it's me." He looked down, he couldn't see Jack's reaction. "How do I know it's really you?" Jack's voice was a bit shaky. He had to make sure. Mark thought about it for a second. "You thought my name in Kik is a shortcut to 'mother fucker' for like, three months." He chuckled, remembering Jack's attempts to figure out his real name.

"It's you." Jack breathed out, before getting up and squeezing Mark with a hug, Mark reacting a bit slow, but eventually hugging back. Mark felt the back of his shirt getting a little bit wet. Tiny, salty tears fell from Jack's eyes on his shirt, and he had to pull back so he can wipe them away. "Are you okey?" Mark asked, clearly concerned about his new-old friend's break down. "Yeah.. Yeah I'm okey. I'm just.. Happy, really happy, for the first time in a long while." Jack chuckled, wiping the tears that still fell from his ocean blue eyes.

"Why? What happened?" Mark asked, dumbfounded. Jack smiled. "I finally found you, the one that helped me through so much shit." Jack chuckled again, this time the sadness was clear in it. Mark raised his eyebrow, not understanding what Jack's talking about. Jack sighed. "I need to tell you something, but promise me you're not gonna tell anyone." Jack said, obviously very serious about the topic. "I can keep a secret for you, I've done it a couple of times." Mark said, trying to lighten the dark mood that appeared. "What are you gonna tell me?"

"You're about to hear the story of my life."
