Chapter 15: going out with the boys

It’s been two weeks since Roman talked me into staying in the cazy house. I haven’t really spoken to Jessie, which isn’t my fault, because she’s been really busy lately. Really, everyone in this house has been busy, even Tristian and Roman, who I assume don’t work. So, I’ve been holed up in my room by myself, for the most part.

Today though, I’m going out with the boys. Apparently, they try to get together a couple of times a week to hang out, and they invited me to come with them today. Though I have a feeling it won’t, I hope today goes smooth with no awkwardness.

My door opens as I’m putting my hair into a low ponytail. Tristian sticks his head into the door, “Let’s go, Cherry.” He says jingling his car keys in his hand.

Thank god Tristian is driving, and not Roman.

“Okay,” I tell him running my hands on my shorts to straighten them out.

I follow Tristian out of the room downstairs, where Roman is waiting for us. Like Tristian, he’s dressed in basketball shorts, and a T-shirt, that I hope will be coming off today when we go to the gym.

“Wanna drive?” Tristian asks Roman when we get outside, and Roman nods, which results in Tristian tossing him the keys.

Oh god, and here I was, thinking I was going to be safe from his driving.

When we make it to the gym, I’m so happy to not be in the car with Roman and his driving anymore, that I’m racing to the inside of the gym.

Tristian and Roman follow me into the gym, chuckling.

“No need to run, Pumpkin, you were safe in the car with me.” Roman says and I almost trip when I hear the name he calls me.

Tristian catches me, and chuckles before he shoots Roman a weird look, which is returned with a shrug. Obviously there was a silent conversation going on between them that I wasn’t invited to join.

Let the awkwardness begin.

“Want to hit the ring?” Roman asks Tristian, breaking the silence.

Tristian nods, “Of course.”

Roman looks at me, “Care to watch?” He asks tilting his head a little.

I definitely don’t have any problems watching him. I nod my head and follow them to the boxing ring in the middle of the room. The ring is empty, but there’s a couple of people on treadmills, and bench pressing.

Roman and Tristian hop into the ring, and to my disappointment, no shirts are taken off. Neither one of them have anything on their hands, which can’t possibly be good, but I don’t say anything.
