Chapter 30: you probably should just pack your bags and leave town

Roman and I lock eyes and just look at each other. I have a feeling he wasn’t expecting me to be the person at the door.

“Ariel, this is Raven.” He says gesturing to the blonde sitting on his desk who’s smiling brightly at me. She looks like she’s in her early twenties, and she’s beautiful. I can’t even hate her because she’s giving me the most friendliest smile.

“Hi.” She says running a hand through her hair.

“Hey.” I say trying not to sound rude.

Roman stands up, “What did you need, Ariel?” He asks casually, and it pisses me off. He knows how I feel about him, yet he didn’t bother telling me he has a girlfriend.

“Nothing, I was just coming to tell you bye.” I tell him taking a step out of the room.

“Where are you going?” He asks raising a brow.

“Out.” I say before closing the door. I stomp down the hall and when Liz sees me she raises an eyebrow but doesn’t say anything. I know that she didn’t know about the girl in the room or she wouldn’t have sent me in. “I’m going out.” I tell her picking my keys up off the table.

“Where?” She asks as I pull my phone out. I scroll to the Ms on my phone, and find the number that Tristian had gave me.

“Mike.” I tell her clicking the name and calling him as I’m on my way out the door.

=============

I meet Mike at the restaurant that I ate at with Roman and Tristian that day after leaving the gym. Mike is leaning against the wall waiting for me outside the restaurant when I get there. I have shades on to hide the barely there bruising on my eyes, plus I’ve been getting real bad headaches since the accident, and today I have a major one. I’m not sure if he knows what happened, but more than likely he does.

“Hey.” He says once I’m close to him.

“Hey.” I say giving him a smile.

He has on a tight white T-shirt that show off his muscles, and a pair of shorts. “I don’t these are necessary.” He says removing my shades and sticking them in his pocket.

“Hey, give them back.” I say putting a hand over my eye.

“Nope.” He says grabbing my hand and pulling me into the restaurant. I don’t bother arguing with him. “Booth for two.” He tells the waitress who gives him a smile before leading us to the booth.

We sit down and look at the menus. Our waitress -who tries hard to flirt with Mike- takes our orders and we begin to chat.

“What made you call me?” Mike asks running a hand through his hair and looking at me.

I shrug my shoulders. “I needed to get out of the house, and I don’t know too many people in town.” I tell him.

He gives me a smile, “I’m not sure if I should be offended or honored.”

“I’m not sure which you should be either.” I tell him.

“I see. So tell me, what’s going on with you and Roman?” He asks leaning forward in his seat, “Because the last time I saw you, I thought he was going to try to kill me.”

I flip my hair over my shoulder, “There’s nothing going on with me and Roman.”

“Really?” A new voice enters the conversation, and them I’m being squished in the booth because they slide in next to me. OKay, maybe I’m not squished, but still… “Because he’s called my phone a million times to see where y’all are at.”

“How lovely of you to join us, Tristian.” I say turning my attention to him, and ignoring his comment about Roman.

“Isn’t it.” He says with a smirk.

“How did you know?” I ask wondering how he knew I was out with Mike.

“Liz, is an easy one to break.” He tells me. Then he turns his attention to Mike, “Man, you probably should just pack your bags and leave town.” Tristian says shaking his head.

Mike raises and eyebrow, “Why?” He asks.

“Roman’s pissed, and you know he’s never liked you anyway.” Tristian says shaking his head.

“Why is Roman pissed?” Mike asks clearly annoyed.

Tristian looks at me, “Ask her.”

Mike looks at me and I shrug my shoulder. “Know what, tell Roman I said fuck him. Now would you let us enjoy our… date.” Mike says to Tristian who looks a bit surprised.

“Look, don’t say I didn’t warn you.” Tristian says standing up and he gives me a kiss on the cheek, something he always does now. “Be careful.” He warns me in my ear, and I’m not sure what he’s talking about. Is he warning me about Roman or Mike. Maybe he’s talking about both.

“Bye Tristian.” I say and he gives me a nod before leaving.

Mike looks like he’s pissed off, and he doesn’t say anything for a while. “Look, I don’t like Roman, but if y’all are dating or something I don’t want to be caught in the middle.” He says.

I fold my arms over my chest, “There’s nothing going on between Roman and I.”

=========================

I get home at about seven o’clock, so I stayed out with Mike for approximately five hours. We ate, and then we went to the park where we lost track of time, and then we ate again before we parted ways. He kissed me once, but that was it.

I walk in the house and find everyone in the living room except for Roman. Everyone watches me as I head up the stairs, and I have no idea why until I open my door.

Roman’s sitting on my bed, casually.

“What are you doing in here?” I ask him closing the door and leaning on it.

“You’re mad at me, and I have no idea why.” He says.

“I’m not mad at you.” I lie since I don’t want to tell him the truth, and embarrass myself. I should have known that we weren’t going to work out.

Roman lets out a sigh, “Yea you are.” I don’t reply to him. “Is it because of Raven?” No reply again. He lets out a laugh, and my cheeks heat up in embarrassment. He’s laughing at me.  “Ariel, do you know what I do as a job?” He asks looking up at me.

I find my voice. “No.”

“You never wondered why I can read people so easily, and why I always try to comfort you?” I thought the latter was because he liked me, but I guess not. “I’m a psychiatrist, Ariel.”

I lock eyes with him, and wonder why he’s telling me this.

“Raven, she’s one of my... patients.”

That doesn’t explain why she was sitting on your desk looking tempting.

“Raven has been my patient for over a year, and has had a crush on me for longer than that.” He says standing up. “There’s no reason for you to be jealous of her, or be mad at me.” He takes a step closer to me as I try to get my thoughts in line.

The girl was his patient, not a girlfriend or something. Dammit. This just proves how much I know about my house mates.

“I…”

Roman places a finger to my lips, “No don’t say anything.” He runs a hand along my arm giving me chills. “I want to take you out, on a real date.”

Q/N:

Sorry, it's not that long, but it's something. A lot of y'all wanted to kill Roman last chapter. Sorry. Now you see it was just a mistake. Tristian's chapter is up on my page in the book called "What You Didn't See" and I think it's pretty good. I'm proud of myself. I'm going to be posting Roman's chapter soon, probably tommorow.

I don't think there's going to be a lot of chapters left in this. I really don't know how exactly I'm going to end this, though I do have an idea. So, I predict five-ten more chapters. Loved the comments on the last chapter.
