Chapter 4: 10 Years Later

It was ten years later I was fourteen almost fifteen, and Katherine and dad had been married for ten years.

A war had started.

We were living in a underground district trying to survive  without getting caught. The one downside to living underground, my neighbor was obsessed with me. (I didn't like him back).

Every morning he would come over with a plate of chocolate chip pancakes (my favorite). He would knock on the door and would say to me,

"Good morning sweetie, did you sleep well last night, what are we going to do today?"

I would get so annoyed, that I would grab the plate of chocolate chip pancakes and slam the door in his face without saying anything back to him or answering his questions.

I would be so, so thankful if the D.O.Cs (Destroyers of Countries) planned a surprise attack on him on the one day when he was going to the store. (A/N, I would never ever wish this upon everyone, I am a wonderful human that cares about everyone, no matter there race, ethnicity. Whether they are rich or poor. This was just for the book to show how much Lily despises her neighbor.)

I stormed into the kitchen and went to the fridge to get the syrup out. Even though I despised him, I always ate his pancakes, since they were the best I'd ever had. I dropped the plate of pancakes on the table and drowned them in syrup.

"Yum" I moaned as the pancakes melted on my tongue.

"What are you all melting over" My dad said walking out from his bedroom.

"Edwards' pancakes, of course"

"Ah dear sweet Edward he always makes you pancakes every morning."

"Even though I despise him I still love his pancakes."

"I know you do pumpkin. Now hurry up and get ready for the day, we have a nice dinner party tonight."

"Okay dad" I said

I finished up the pancakes and hopped to the shower. When I came back from the bathroom, dressed and showered everybody was up.

"Good morning everybody" I said in a singsong voice.

"Good morning Lily."

"What's for dinner tonight" I asked my mom walking into the kitchen to grab a glass of chocolate milk.

"Filet Mignon with agave steamed carrots."

"That's my favorite meal,  like Grandma."

"That's why I made them because Grandma's family is coming tonight"

"Really!!" I said. "Okay what should I wear" I asked my mom.

"How about your new dress?"

"Okay, I'm going to go get ready, I will see you tonight" I said to my family walking back into my bedroom.

When five o'clock rolled around I walked out in my black and blue, knee length dress with a pair of three inch heels. (This is the max heel height you can have where I live). When my brother saw me he whistled.

"That sure is one heck of a dress" he said.

"Shut up" I told him "you've seen it before."

"Maybe you'll meet your first boyfriend tonight at the ball"

"There's a ball?" I said in confusion.

"Oops guess I let the cat out of the bag." He said giggling in between.

Maybe I will meet my first guy tonight in the adorable dress. The seamstress said it would make the boys melt at the sight of it. I guess I'll have to wait and see. I thought to myself. Later after we had dinner and before heading out to the ball, we sat in the living room and watched the evening report. While we were watching the evening report my mom turned to me and said,

"Tonight is the 50th annual ball at Lily's high school. We were invited because I used to go to that high school too."

"Eeeeeee" screamed my older step-sister. "Maybe my boyfriend will ask me to marry him."

"I doubt it" My mom and I said at the same time.

Everyone giggled.

"Let's go, the limousine is down waiting for us, and if we don't get going now we are going to be late". Dad said.

                                                                                     -----------

Yes, this is a longer chapter. My first set of finals ever are in six weeks so I have to start studying for those. If I don't update for a while, that's why.  I am an over achiever. Don't blame me.

So what did you guys think?
