"I'm selfish, impatient, and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I'm out of control, and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best,"

-Marilyn Monroe

Song- Hurts like hell, by Fleurie.

Cassie swallowed hard. Her bottom lip quivered. She looked at a bewildered Tyler, and her heart sunk to the deepest part of her chest. She shook her head and rubbed her palms together, nervously. "Babe, I swear I did not mean that. I don't even know why I said it."

Tyler scoffed and then he kicked away grains of sand and shoved his hands in his pockets with his eyes fixed on the ground. His shoulders sunk and then he took a deep breath. He lifted his head and pierced his eyes into Cassie's. "Two over-ambitious people can't be together because they'll forever busy themselves with their own dreams and forget to cheer on the other person. They'll forever stand with their backs to each other and eventually lose sight of the person behind them. Cassie, you and I are way too ambitious to be together."

Cassie opened her mouth to speak but he lifted a finger in front of her face "Let me finish," he took in a deep breath and then he focused all his attention on her. "I love you, Cassie, I swear I do, but if we stay together I'm scared I'll stop loving you and eventually end up despising you. So this thing we have," he pointed at the both of them "I think we should end it now while we still love each other. We should end it peacefully." He sucked his lips into his mouth and then he let out a breath he had been holding for a while.

Cassie stood before him and simply stared at him. Her brain had not yet processed to her the meaning of his words. Tyler gently placed his hands on her shoulder's and then he looked at her as though he were looking at her for the last time. "Goodbye Cassie," he said and then he walked to his car. She watched him get into his car and she watched as the four wheels rolled him away from her, perhaps forever.

"I got kicked out for smoking," she heard someone scoff behind her, and then she turned around to see Joseph standing with a scowl on his face. As soon as she set eyes on him her chest heaved up and down and the only thing she could think of doing to help release some of her anger was to hit him. And so she did, she hit him on his face as hard as she could but it did nothing to calm her.

"Eight," Joseph said and then he massaged his face by moving his tongue up and down the inside of his cheek. He slipped his hands into the pockets of his pants and licked his lips.

"What the hell do you mean by eight?" Cassie rose a brow, and she stared at him with her chest still slightly heaving.

"That's the eighth time I've been hit by a scorned woman," he smiled "it's quite the turn on, I must confess," he winked at her.

Cassie rolled her eyes. "I'm not surprised. Actually, I am, eight times is not enough," she huffed and puffed. "What did you do that for? You went in there and made me look like a liar in front of my boyfriend and now he has ended our relationship," she rose her voice.

"I didn't make you look like a liar, I simply exposed you. And I'm glad my plan worked, your boyfriend was a distraction. Right now your only goal in life should be finding Avril's killer."

Cassie stared at him incredulously. "You did it on purpose?" her voice was small, she almost sounded disappointed.

"Of course I did, and it actually worked?'' he was in disbelief. "All you need to focus on right now is my sister. Once we solve her case maybe you and I can make it happen," he winked. "If I squint and crane my neck to the side you're quite decent-looking.'' He demonstrated, and then he licked his lips.
