[Chapter 10] Aftermath

Adrien's POV
I turned around in hopes of getting an explanation from Marinette.

"W-what do you mean?" I asked.

A few moments passed as a waited for her reply, but it never heard it. Instead, I felt her heavy breaths that reeked of alcohol and the quiet snores she would let out every now and then. I snapped a selfie of me and her adorable sleeping face with a little bit of drool slipping out from the corner of her mouth. I set that photo as my lock screen and wallpaper. I sighed in disappointment. I didn't get to find out what she meant, but from now on I'll have plenty of chances to be with her. I pressed the home button on my phone and laughed at my lock screen. I held Marinette tighter and carried her all the way home on my back.

Marinette's POV
I woke up to the strong throbs that tormented my head from the aftermath of yesterday. I groaned and bit my lip angrily, immediately regretting my decision of drinking that much.

"I can barely remember anything.." I groaned.

My hand reached for my phone that had been vibrating beneath my pillow for a while.

"5....messages....from..Adrien."

Adrien
Hey how are you feeling buginette?

Marinette
Terrible. I feel like I'm laying beneath a huge rock.

Adrien
Not surprised tbh. You should've seen yourself yesterday lol

Marinette
No thanks.....

Adrien
Do u wanna have lunch together? I finish work at 1:30

Marinette
Where???

Adrien
Let's go to the food truck at the park!They've made some pretty good stuff while you were gone

Marinette
Ok cya at the park

Adrien

I sighed and threw my phone onto my lap before dropping back onto my bed.

"I'm still hungover and jet lagged......what the hell am I doing."

I got up and changed into some casual clothes that were sticking out of the closet. The wooden floorboards creaked as if they were going to snap from the impact of my boots at any second. I helped Mama bake new pastries for a while before I left to see Adrien. I've been away for years yet it feels like nothing has changed. My eyes looked in all sorts of directions as I was walking and before I knew it I was there.

"Hey Adrien!" I shouted from afar.

I ran up to him and accidentally jabbed my heel onto his feet.

"Oh my god I'm so sorry Adrien."

He flinched and painfully laughed it off.

"Yep, that's Marinette for you." Adrien laughed.

I smiled and helped him up and walked beside him. The food truck was different, it was much larger and had a larger menu but it still had that homely smell to it. We both sat down in front of the amazing smelling food.
