Adrien's POV
I hate to admit it, but his looks are on par with mine. Silky light brown hair that was slightly combed back, dark grey eyes, a sharp jawline and a slender body. He was very handsome."I can't wait to work with you, your designs are splendid!"
"I'm great Lucas, thanks for asking." She said slightly annoyed but happy.
My eyebrows furrowed at the sight of those two being close.
"I was going to see you at the studio tomorrow anyways, you didn't have to come see me."
"I wanted to see you as soon as possible! After all it's been ages!"
"Ages. You mean one week since you saw me off at the airport?"
"Yeah ahah." He said with a beautiful smile that slightly showed his pearly white teeth.
"Who might you be?" He asked curiously.
He grabbed my hand and shook it in a friendly matter.
"I'm Lucas Frangepine, Marinette's friend from America."
He seems like a nice guy, I need to it let go. It was all in the past.
"Adrien Agreste, Marinette's childhood friend. Nice to meet you."
"Likewise."
He waved goodbye to both of us and ran off in a hurry after looking at his Rollex watch worriedly.
"So....that's Lucas."
"Yeah, pretty quirky and hyper but he's a good guy. Try to get along with him because you'll be seeing him really often."
"I'll try." I irritatedly whispered to myself.
Marinette's POV
"Well I'm going to head home now, bye Adrikins!" I mocked."Please don't do that." Adrien groaned.
I skipped home feeling great. I swung open the bakery door and started singing along with the bells that rung. I ran up the stairs and into my room and jumped on my bed, making a mess of the bed sheets that mom organised for me. My eyes struggled to stay open and I sleepily curled up into a ball and fell asleep.
I felt my hair and cheek being gently caressed by large and rough yet comforting hands. They slid through my silky and tangled bed hair. I peeked open my right eye unwillingly and saw Lucas' light grey eyes staring at me happily. His cheeky smirk quickly turned into a toothy grin.
"Good morning young lady. I hope you had a nice sleep."
I closed my eyes again. This must be a dream. Yep, just a dream. I peeked open my eye again for confirmation and no, it was not a dream. I shrieked and jumped backwards.
"Lucas! What the- W-what are you doing in my room! Who even let you in the bakery shouldn't be open at this time." I yelled.
"Your mother let me in, she's a lovely lady. She gave me a free cream hornet. Well anyways, I'm here to take you out for breakfast care to join?" He asked while reaching his hand out.
I sighed and showed him my unpleasant expression. I pushed his hand away and proceeded to throw myself under my blanket.
"No thanks, I'd rather spend the next 4 hours sleeping."
He stayed silent which was awfully suspicious. I heard rustling from my desk.
"26th March 2016. Today I-" He narrated.
I sat up immediately and tumbled out of bed.
"No stop!" I shrieked.
"Just kidding. You awake yet Pigtails?" He laughed.
"I really don't have a choice do I?" I asked tiredly.
He nodded and smiled evilly before walking out of the room, tapping his watch with his finger. I groaned and got ready. I dragged my feet across the floor and down the stairs. Lucas sat there waiting for me with two coffees. He walked towards me and handed me the coffee.
"Thanks Lucas."
"No problem."
We walked out of the bakery together and looked for a nice restaurant or cafe to have breakfast in. After strolling down multiple streets we found ourselves walking into a small and beautiful cafe. We ordered our food and waited patiently while talking to each other.
"So? How's life in America?" I asked.
"Not as great as when you used to be around. I quite enjoyed watching your clumsiness get the best of you. Oh! Like that one time when you slipped on a piece of fabric and fell into a pit of fabric rolls." He laughed.
"Are you ever going to let that go? People make mistakes ok." I replied.
"You make more mistakes than the average person Marinette, oh boy!"
He clenched his stomach painfully as tears began welling up in his eyes from laughing too hard. I tapped my finger against the table repeatedly, slightly annoyed and a little embarrassed. He put his hand over mine.
"Sorry Marinette." He said while slightly chuckling and wiping a tear away from his eye.
I withdrew my hand and twiddled my thumbs beneath the table.
"It's fine."
"Are you used to Paris yet?" He asked.
"Yeah, a little. I'm just struggling with catching up on everyone. I was known for being the clumsiest girl in town after all. I'm glad everyone still remembers me."
"They sound like very nice people. I was hoping to come to Paris when we were still together. I was looking forward to greeting your parents and all of your friends but......"
The air became heavy. I gripped my skirt tightly and nodded my head. Lucas was a great guy and he was a wonderful boyfriend.
"It was wrong of me to date you while I still had somebody else in mind. I'm sorry Lucas. I just didn't want to take advantage of your feelings for me in order to find comfort." I whimpered.
My head hung low apologetically, I didn't want to look at him with my guilty eyes.
"I was happy with that Marinette. I came here not only for work.....but to also ask if you would be willing to go out with me again. I really love you and I treasured our relationship a lot. I know you may have somebody else in mind but I also love that part of you that's thinking about him. I'll accept everything."
My eyes widened and I bit my lips in confusion.
"Wait what?"
