"What kind of things has been going on?" Amara asked grabbing her books out her locker. "Just some things that I need to share with my bestfriend" I said.

She smiled and nodded her head. "Does this have anything to do with Lucas?" "A little" her smile widened. "I knew y'all would end up dating sooner or later, he's had a crush on you for years"

I slightly rolled my eyes.

"You and my mother are killing me" I mumbled. "Speak of the devil" Amara said. I turnt around and saw Lucas walking up to us. He threw his arm around my neck and kissed my cheek.

"Morning ladies" he cheesed. Amara smiled. "Hey, I'll give yall some privacy" she said. She winked at me before walking off. "How'd you sleep last night?" He asked.

I leaned against the lockers as he grabbed my hand. "Okay I guess, I haven't been sleeping alot lately" I mumbled. "I could go over there and keep you company" I smiled.

"Good Idea" He smirked. "So I been thinking, maybe you wanna skip 5th period?" He asked. I raised a brow. "And go where?" I asked. He shrugged.

"The beach?"

I bit down on my bottom lip thinking. If I wasn't there Zion would definitely notice I was gone, but then again who gives a fuck?

I leaned against Lucas's car and waited for him. This wasn't my first time skipping class so I wasnt all that nerves. The back door open and I smiled watching Lucas step outside.

"Hey beautiful"

He pulled me into a hug and kissed my lips. "Lets go before someone sees us" I nodded and we both hopped in his car. We made our way to the beach.

We were at the end of September and it was pretty warm thank God. He picked the perfect day to go to the beach. I took my shoes off and wrapped my hoodie around my waist.

A couple minutes went by and we were walking on the beach with our toes burried in the sand. "What do you see yourself doing in the next five years?" I asked Lucas.

He twisted his lips and looked up at the sky. "Basketball most likely" "At what college?" He shrugged. "Don't know for sure, but I'm looking at colleges in Cali" I nodded slowly inpressed.

"What about you?" He asked "Atlanta for sure, I can't stand the cold up here anymore" Lucas smiled and locked our fingers together pulling me into a kiss.

I grabbed my things out my locker and took a deep breath before making my way to the student parking lot when I saw Zion standing there waiting for me leaning against my car.

"Can I help you?" I asked pulling my keys out. Zion scoffed and stood up straight. "You know exactly why I'm here" He said.

I was silent. "Where were you 5th period?" I sighed unlocking my door. "Why do you care?" I asked getting frustrated. He licked his lips.

"I care because despite of our situation I still care about you...and you education" "Again why do you even care Zion" I repeated myself.

He clenched his teeth and grabbed the back of my neck pulling me into a kiss. I froze in my tracks hesitating but finally gave in. I closed my eyes and kissed back.

I knew there was something missing when I kissed Lucas...now I know what it is. I pulled away and looked down at my feet.

"I should go"

I said. Zion stepped out of my way and let me get in my car. I started my car up and drove until I didn't see the school in my rearview mirror.

"We haven't had a girls night in a minute" I said stuffing some icecream in my mouth. "True, so what did you have to tell me?" Amara asked. I sighed a little crossing my legs.

I basically told her everything that has been going on these past month. About Zion, Lucas, Jade. She took it better than I thought she would.

"He is cute"

She said mentioning Zion. I sighed. "Yea" I mumbled. Amara smiled. "You still like him huh?" She asked. After that kiss I was so confused.
