Lexa's POV

"Are you feeling better?" Clarke whispered.
" indeed I do..Thank you." I rubbed my forehead as I realized I let my mask fall right in front of her.
Suddenly, I felt a gentle grip on my wrist and we started walking blindly into the direction the others had gone.
"What about your family?"
My curiosity  awakened and I didn't even have to look at her to notice she became distant. Her hand let go of mine and she waited a while to answer my question.

"There's not much to say, really. I told you a lot already. My family and some others worked in cooperation with another company and we all walked blindly into a trap. They tricked us and held us kinda captive." She sighed.
"My dad died a few years ago and my mum had to leave, so there's no family left anymore. Just me and my friends."
I couldn't help but feel bad for her. Although I couldn't see her face, I could hear a tragic tone of sadness in her voice.
"I'm sorry Clarke. I don't know the hurt and paint you've been through, but I want you to know I'm here for you if you need someone to talk to." I stroke her shoulder.
"From intimidating to softy in less than one day huh?" I snorted.
"You ruined it Blondie."

By the time we reached a with torches lightened room with a small pond in one corner, the others had already set their tents and fireplaces.
Somehow, this place was strangely familiar to me. I must have seen or heard about it before but yet I couldn't figure out where..
"I see you made yourself comfortable." The blonde had her hands on her hips and I could see a scared Asian facial expression.
"We thought we would set our camps to wait for you in case you got lost.. we couldn't find you." He slightly stuttered but Clarke just waved it off smilingly.
"Don't worry, I'm hungry anyway. Plus we can try get to know each other since we basically stuck here together, right?" Ocean blue met deep green.
God, she is beautiful.
"Lexa?" All eyes were on me.
"Ehr." I was caught off guard. "Sure."

The boys brought some snakes on a stick and immediately, a grin escaped my lips and my gaze wandered to Octavia who was more than disgusted. I knew it. I knew she would freak out as soon as she recognized the shape of a snake the boys had found in an old ceramic pot and eventually killed.
"I'm so not gonna eat that."
"Can I have it instead?" Raven devoured the meal with a ravenous appetite. It shouldn't have surprised me at all to find out Raven was gay in class 8 since she visibly acted more like a guy than a girl.
"No? You've already eaten enough fat ass." She snatched the stick out of Raven's hand who just stole it seconds before.

"I thought you would so not gonna eat it?" Raven laughed in amusement.
"Beggars can't be choosers." Octavia stated before she took the first bite.
"Mmhm" she moaned. "Tastes like chicken."
I chuckled silently whilst I got up to take a seat near the fire. Just as I was about to fish out my mum's diary, Clarke sat down next to me with a bottle looking like wine.
"Don't ask, just drink." She held out the green colored bottle and I hesitated for a moment but took it.
I took a sip and moaned. "This wine goes down well."
"can I ask you something?"
I shrugged my shoulders. "Of course."
I could see her biting her lip, probably trying to find the right words to say. It was cute.

"Why are you always distancing yourself like you're enjoying being isolated.."
I cocked an eyebrow.
"What makes you think I'm distancing myself, Clarke?"
"You're always just watching people having a conversation instead of being involved in one. You either pay attention and put on guard or you're in a totally different world and space."
I didn't like the way she kept analyzing me. I snorted.
"Clarke. I just don't like socializing very much and it would be awesome if you'd stop playing my therapist who's trying to see behind the surface." She nodded.
"You clearly are an unread book."
She was about to get up when I stopped her.
"Sit down. I didn't mean to snap."
She sat back down next to me, nipping on her wine. I studied her facial features. A small but sharp nose, a cute frown on her forehead and thin but beautifully formed lips.
"You're staring, Lexa." She whispered before she took another sip without looking at me.
I smiled.
"Who wouldn't." I bit my lip and waited for her reaction. It was priceless when she nearly choke on her wine but I decided to pat her back, until she could finally breathe again.
"You did that on purpose, asshole."
She breathed heavily.
"True." I grinned but it faded as soon as her piercing blue eyes met mine.
I was drowning in the deep blue of her own ocean like I was in trance. I fantasized the tranquilizing sound of waves and the salty smell of sea air. My heartbeat seemed to slow down and I felt relaxed, like if my inner storm that used to rage and destroy any piece of my soul for so many years slowly vanished into thin air. When she looked back towards the crowd drinking and dancing, I kept studying her side profile.

We didn't talk much, just shared a bottle of wine and listened to the crackling sound of the fire and to the voices of our friends that slowly died away to sleep.
By the time the light faded, the fire burned down and Clarke's head rested on my shoulder, but I could feel she wasn't asleep yet.
I smiled softly as I gently brushed a blonde curly hair strand behind her ear.
She responded by snuggling closer into my neck. I bit my lip and turned my head towards her and placed one hand gently on her skin. My sight was a bit blurry.. probably as a side effect of alcohol. Nevertheless, I could see her stunning face perfectly.
My thumb draw circles on her cheek, making her blush a little.
When her eyes stared back into mine I couldn't help but lean in.
