It had been a month of Pharaoh and Ka'Miko using the "every other day" system, so far, it was working. They never saw each other and when they did, it was for a mere second. Niether of them spoke to each other, there was nothing to say & if their was they didn't know how to properly voice it without knowing it would end in an arguement; But both of them remained single and while Ka'Miko was celibate, Pharaoh still had his one nights stands once in a while. But, today he knew he would see her it was innevitable because it was KJ's birthday barbeque.

The smell of barbeque and weed filled the big backyard.

"Happy Birthday, KJ!" A group of girl said as they embraced him.

Pharaoh stood back, watching in approval.

"My nigga!" Pharaoh gave him a pat on the back as they walked away.

They both stared at their asses as they walked away.

"DAAAMN!" They said in unison.

"Ain't nothing better than this man, being surrounded by my peoples. It's been one hell of year, I'm just happy to be alive, nah mean?" He said.

Pharaoh nodded in complete understanding.

"Shit, we gettin' old." Pharaoh mumbled as he took a sip of his Heineken.

"Right." KJ laughed, "Think i'm 'bout to settle down. Find me a good girl and -"

"Speaking of girls--" Pharaoh looked toward the backyard entrance, as Lee Lee walked in.

She had gained a few pounds, but still looked decent. She had more curves now, she wore her black hair down and straight, it merely touched her shoulders. She had china bangs framing, her now chubby cheeks. She wore tight denim jeans, and a simple white T-shirt with black heels. She approached KJ with a light smile.

"Hey." She said in a soft voice.

He nodded, "What's up, Lee?"

"Nothing...just heard you were having this get together, thought I'd just stop by. I've changed since the last time you saw me." She said.

"I can see that." He said dryly.

"I'm not the same angry person, I was before. And Pharaoh, I'm sorry for the way I treated Ka'Miko, I did apologize to her." She informed him.

"It ain't my business." He shrugged.

"You guys--"

"Yup." Pharaoh answered the question he already knew she'd ask.

"Oh. Sorry to hear that." She said.

"Anyways, I just came to say Happy Birthday, making this visit brief." She shrugged.

"Well, nice to see you. Thanks for coming by." KJ said.

He felt nothing for her, not anymore. Ka'Miko was family, and once you fuck with family, you fucked with the whole family, she didn't just disrespect Ka'Miko, she disrespected him as well, publicly at that. But he wasn't going to be an asshole, he knew it took a lot of courage for her to even come here.

With that she turned to leave and as she got the door she met the eyes of Ka'Miko. Everyone watched intently to see what Ka'Miko would do, the backyard fell into a silence. But, to their surprise she walked right by Lee Lee like they had never known each other. Ka'Miko didn't mind all eyes being on her, her high-waisted distressed jean shorts, red V-Neck T-shirt and red stillettos made every part of her look amazing. Her hair in a high bun with painted red lipstick made her look like an exotic Marilyn Monroe.
