"I'm so sorry. I swear to get it right this time." Pharoah said behind me as I pulled the covers tightly over me.
"Bullshit." Ka'Miko laughed at his pleas.
He's been begging for almost an hour for forgiveness after he came back to the house almost an entire 24 hours of leaving with his little friend 'Mila'. After his talk with KJ he realized where he had fucked up, but he didn't mean harm by it. He was stuck in his ways, that's his only explanation for it. But truthfully, he never slept with Mila and things were damn near as awkward as it could get after Ka'Miko caught him groping her.
She was thirst trapping, and she knew damn well he had a girl and a child. He walked himself into that hole he knew it, he could've looked and not touched but instead he induldged. KJ's words were getting to him, what if Ka'Miko finally did decide to leave him? That he was no longer worth it? The pain of not seeing her or his daughter every morning and every night made his chest ache.He wasn't too proud to beg, usually yes, but when it came to his girls he'd give up anything to keep them.
"If we were to get married you'd still be on the same shit you're on now, it would just be harder to escape." She sighed, she knew he could do better but for some reason, they always ended up fighting over petty things.
"You put up a fight about the marriage to begin with." He argued.
"Beautiful excuse." She mumbled, clearly she wasn't going to get any sleep here.
She walked to her drawers and put on some jogging pants, leaving herself in her sports bra.
"Where you going?" He asked her, growing frustrated.
His apology wasn't enough, and he didn't know what more he could do or say."Somewhere I can get some sleep without you." She replied with a shrug before pulling on her sweater, shoes and grabbing her keys.
"Ka'Miko..Kam!" He called after her as she slammed the front door shut and ignored him.She drove down the dark empty streets, it was 4am and it felt like the sun was chasing her to her destination. She knocked hard on the door and waited for an answer. For a while there was just silence before she knocked again.
When the door swung open she met sleepy brown eyes.
KJ kissed his teeth as he stepped aside.
"Why are you here?" He groaned, irritated and angry.
"Just thought I'd stop by." She shrugged with a smirk she knew would piss him off.
She jogged up the stairs to his room before she slid off her shoes and hopped in his bed.
"Forreal Kam, why are you here?" He sighed, looking at her curled up in his bed.
"Pharaoh. I'm done with him and I can't get any sleep cause he kept talking shit in my ear." She replied.
"Yeah, whatever." He rolled his eyes.
"I swear!" She laughed, "Just believe me for once."
"I always believe you." He smirked.
"I know..and I thank you for that." She smiled.
"Anything for your ugly ass." He teased.
"Okay." She said sarcastically rolling her eyes.
She sat up and unzipped her sweater and threw it on the floor, before getting under his covers and laying down. He groaned, turned off the lights and got in next to her.
"Don't be hogging all the blanket tonight or I'ma kick you off the bed." He said seriously.
She laughed, "Promise."
