She stared at the ring for what felt like an eternity.
She sighed, "I have a question.."
She saw the disappointment all over his face already.
"Don't look at me like that, Pharaoh. I just want to know..like, why are you so set on marrying me?" She asked.
"I thought I made that clear." He furrowed his eyebrows.
"Can't we just promise to be together...I'll take the ring, but I'm so young and I don't want to be married right now. I'm not saying I don't want to marry you, cause I do, I promise. But like, I just don't want to be married right now. I'm still so young and -"
"I get it." He cut her off.
Pharaoh was disappointed that once again, she had turned down his proposal. But, he understood her reasons.
"So.." She said.
"Alright." He nodded, and reached his hand out.
She gently placed her hand in his and he slid the ring on her ring finger.
"We're not engaged, but if anyone ask, you're mine." He smiled and kissed her.
"I love you, Kam." He whispered against her lips.
"I love you too." She smiled widely.
"I'ma start on breakfast, go get yourself cleaned up." He instructed.
She nodded and hopped off the bed, going into his bathroom. She took a shower, brushed her teeth. Pharaoh put her clothes in the washer, and they were dry by the time she came out. She put on her shorts, and one of his oversized T-shirts, tucking it in. She grabbed her heels and followed the scent of pancakes into the kitchen.
She watched his strong back muscles flex as he flipped the pancakes, her mouth watered as she realized all that she had been missing.
"You gon' come eat, or just stand there and watch me." He teased without even looking over his shoulder.
She blushed and came and sat in front of him, on the stool by the island. He made her a plate of pancakes, eggs and bacon.
"Thank you." She said and drowned her pancakes with syrup.
"That's where Khaleesi gets that shit from." He smirked.
"What?" She asked with a mouthful of pancakes.
"That nasty drowning it in syrup. It's a dressing, y'all might as well drink it straight from the bottle." He laughed.
"Got a straw?" She joked.
He chuckled and made his own plate before going to sit beside her.
"I missed having you here." He said, honestly as he started eating.
"I feel like we can get it right this time...that way we never have to go without each other again. I was so lonely without you," She laughed, "I didn't know what to do."
He smiled, "Shit, I knew that."
"Shut up." She laughed and slapped his arm playfully.
They finished eating, and Ka'Miko washed the dishes. Pharaoh wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her neck.
"Stop playing." She giggled as butterflies erupted in her stomach.
"You stop teasing me, wearing them little ass shorts." He laughed.
"Are they really that short? I didn't notice." She said sarcastically.
"Wore 'em for me or for everybody else?" He asked.
