Chapter 33

"So where's Dr Rabies?" I ask trying to change the subject.

"I don't know." Azula replies while rubbing her wrists. "We were never allowed to see where he stayed."

"Is there anyone else who would know?" I ask.

Briggan crosses his arms and looks like he's deep in thought. "Well we don't know where he is exactly...but if I had to guess he'd be in a lab somewhere."

Azula pats Briggan hard on the back. "Briggan you're a genius!"

"I am?" He looks down and blushes "Um gee thanks."

"Well alright then so we go back to a lab room then." I say.

"Seems to be the next steps we should take." Azula agrees.

"So...do you guys know how to get back to the lab because I don't." I say slightly embarrassed.

Azula chuckles "Yeah it's this way."

"It's ok Essix. You were running for your life there's no time to remember where the lab is when that's happening to you." Briggan says nonchalantly.

"Uhh...yeah...sure..." I say awkwardly.

"Briggan!" Azula says while shooting Briggan a nasty look.

Realization lights up Briggan's face. "What? Oh! I'm sorry Essix I didn't mean to say that!" He says quickly.

We successfully found our way back to the lab building. We walked down a long narrow corridor that led back into big room. The same room that contained Dr. Rabies' office the first time we passed through there.

"We're back here again?" I ask.

I look around the room. Everything looks normal, except for the open laptop sitting on the desk.

Azula notices it too. "What is that?" She says while pouting to the laptop.

"I don't know but I'm about to find out." I say while going over to check the laptop.

The screen is lit up with what seems to be a video message. I click the play button in the lower left hand corner and Dr. Rabies' ugly face appears on the screen.

"So you managed to escape Azula. I must say I'm very impressed Essix. Your skills are impeccable." He says.

I narrow my eyes. "Rabies. Where are you you punk?"

"Far enough away from you and that's all you need to know." He replies.

"Stop playing games with me, what do you want with me?" I growl.

He wags a finger at me. "Tut tut Essix. It seems you've lost your temper. That's no way to behave."

It took everything I could do not to throw the laptop against the wall. So I just bite back the retort on my tongue and tightly grip the edge of the desk.

"You managed to throw a small wrench in our plans Essix. A transgression that will not go unpunished that is sure." Dr. Rabies replies darkly.

"I'll show you transgressions." I mutter.

"You're still wanted in the grand scheme of things Essix. All I can say is that you better watch your back." Dr. Rabies says.

Then suddenly the computer screen goes black.

I bang my fists on the desk in frustration. "Dang it! Now I'll never know what else he's plotting."
