There has been a legend that has been as old as this land

About the forest on the border between both land and sea

There resides a small shrine to a long forgotten god, hidden deep within the forest.

The shine is made out of stone and andesite, with a small maiden holding a few flowers and a monk holding a bag of seeds.

Within the center is the forgotten God himself.

His arms are raised over both the maiden and monk. Within each hand is a star.

Protective runes cover the front and back

Covered in light moss and beautiful vines with small leaves

With 2 slightly larger statues standing guard in front of the shrine

One of a scholar

One of a warrior

It is said that long ago, a great and powerful god fell in love with mortal. The god had lost his duties, as punishment. The falled god had stolen a child in order to reclaim his throne among the lasting. Sadly it lead to no avail. The god had lost all but their lover and stolen child.

The lasting had took small pity on their fallen brother and sent a gift

It was that gift's duty to was to stand guard till the remainder of fallen's days

To this day, mothers and daughters have been warned to not wonder into the forest. Unless that they wish to never see their family again and be taken away. Men are warned to not wonder into the forest, passed dusk unless be killed by the gift.

Years have now passed and the legend is now but dead.

I looked up from the book as I heard footsteps, growing nearer. Grabbing it, I shoved the book into my pack, and snuck out the same window I came in.

If they caught me again, then they'd send me away.

Or that's what they threatened at least.

I'm pretty sure they'd ban me or something

Because they've banned me already a few times

I growled quietly as I put my hood up and ran to their houses. Quickly scrawling a note and leaving it between the glass pane of each of their widows.

They needed to see this.

I only did that if it is was really important.

This book was in the restriction section

For an old fairy tale, this really seemed to be important.

I sat up in the tree, reading the book over again.
