Dinning with Friends

Emma has been an amazing person, we have become such good friends over a short period of time. I haven't really made any friends besides Tyler but he's a different story. Tonight she has invited me over to her house to have dinner and meet the rest of her family. She always talks about them which makes me feel like I already know them.

I get to their house and I ring the door bell. The door opens and I see a young lady that looks like me. It must be their eldest daughter Lacy. "Hey you must be Lacy?" She rolls her eyes and walks away. I stood there a bit baffled but not surprised. "Mom that teacher is at the door," she says while walking up the stairs. She gasps as she runs to the door.

"Oh my God Rey I am so sorry for Lacy's behavior, you know.." I nod. "It's ok you told me don't worry, I get it." She nods. She escorts me in and I make my way to the living room. I see two little ones well not so little. "Leía, Liam come say hi to our guest," Emma says and they walk up to me and give me a hug.

I smile. "Rey, so happy you could make it," Killian says as he takes off his apron. "So Killian cooked?" I asked and Emma laughed. "Yes he wanted to cook so I let him and besides you know how busy us teachers get." I laugh and nod. "I'm sure everything will taste great," I say and he laughs.

"Well I'm going to freshen up, be right back," Killian says then gives Emma a kiss and goes up the stairs. That warmed my heart. "Please Rey take a seat." I nod. I make way to the table and my is the table decorated beautifully. "Kids come on," she says and they sit at the table.

Emma then calls Lacy down and she walks down with her phone in hand. Then Killian walks down and we are all sitting down at the table. Curiously there was enough chairs for everyone, it didn't feel like they had put in an extra chair for me. Even though it seemed so insignificant it felt good.

"Ok since Rey is our guest we will serve her first," Killian says and I smile. He serves me food then proceeds to feed the rest of the family. This atmosphere felt so nice, it was rare for Regina, my mother, Mr Gold and I to sit around together at the table to eat.

It was usually just Regina and I eating together. We continued to talk and we were all enjoying ourselves except Lacy. I look over at her and she is on her phone. "Lacy put your phone away," Emma says and she rolls her eyes. That's when Killian gives her a scolding look and she scoffs. "Why do we have to do this, I'm not even hungry."

"Lacy Anne Jones," Killian says in a scolding manner and she frowns. I laugh. "Hey Killian it's ok, I get it Lacy wants the attention to her so let her have it." Killian and Emma's eyes shot open. Lacy scoffs. "Excuse me," Lacy says in an offended tone. "You know you sound like my sister Gina, she's so dramatic." She scoffs.

Emma gives me a nod because she understood where I was going with this. "Ok tell me this, why does this setting upset you?" She stays quiet. "There's obviously something wrong so speak up." "Umm..." I smile. "Hey I'm a new person I get it, but you don't have to be acting like a brat when you're 20 years old." She gasps. That's when Leía and Liam laugh.

"I didn't mean to disrespect you but either this setting is upsetting you or you're irritated that you can't be with your boyfriend." She gasps. "How do you know that I've been texting my boyfriend?" I take a sip of my wine. "Well I saw the way you kept smiling at your phone, and besides I was at your age like 2 years ago, I'm not that old, if anyone can relate to you it's me." She half smiles.

I look back at Killian and Emma and they are in shock. "What?" Emma smiles. "Oh nothing," she says and I continue to eat. Time passes by and the kids had gone upstairs and so did Lacy. I try to help clean up the table but of course Emma and Killian didn't let me and sent me to the living room.

I loved how they treated me as their child, they can't help it they're parents. I look around the living room and I see pictures of them. I then come across one of them and they were holding a baby in a pink blanket. I grab the frame and the silhouette of the man and woman appear in front of me but this time I could see their faces. It was Emma and Killian. I gasp as I put the frame down.

I shook my head. No it can't be. That's when they come over to the living room and I made my way towards them. It's best to just forget about this for now. We all sit down and Emma gives me a smile. "Thank you for what you did with Lacy back there." I smile. "It's ok." Killian smiles. "No seriously thank you." I smile. "So I was looking at the picture over there is that of the daughter you were telling me about Emma?" She sighs. "Yeah, that's her." I gasp.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to.." Killian grabs her hand then kisses her cheek. She sighs then smiles. "It's ok Rey." I smile. "You two have a beautiful family." They look at each other and smile. "We do." I smile. "Well I know you have a sister and a mother," Emma says with a smile, "but you haven't told me about your father." I sigh. "Well I don't have one, well I know I had to have one because if I didn't I wouldn't be here," I said and they laughed.

"I don't know I don't anything about him." They nod.  That's when my phone goes off and it's a text from Tyler. I couldn't help but smile. "Is that Tyler?" Emma asks with a smirk on her face. I blush. "How'd you know?" She laughs. "I know you Rey." I nod. "I can answer later." They nod. We continued to talk and my did I enjoy it. I don't know why I felt like I fit in well with this family.

"So I guess I'll be on my way," I say and they nod. I go and hug Emma. "Thank you two so much for dinner, I had a grand time and Killian the food was delicious." He smiles. They walked me to the door. That's when I hear someone run down the stairs. "Bye Rey," Lacy says and I smile. "Bye Lacy, if you need anything have your mom give you my number." She nods.

I make my outside and got in my car. I drove home and my was I smiling like crazy. I was so happy. But man why did I see Killian and Emma's faces on the silhouettes of that man and woman? I shook my head it honestly doesn't mean anything. I continued to remember the night and that's when I remembered why I was here.

I sigh. Well living here means I have to blend in and that's what I'm doing. I look down and I see a text from Tyler. Yup I need to blend in which means accepting Tyler's offer to go out with him tomorrow night.

Emma's POV
I'm sitting down on the bed and I was just remembering what happened during dinner. Rey was acting so normal with everyone and I loved how she acted with Lacy, she acted like her older sister. She needs an older sister and it pains my heart that she doesn't have one.

Killian lays down next to me and starts to caress my arm. I ignore him and my mind continued to wander. "Love!" Killian yells and I look at him. "What?" "Emma, I've been calling you for the past 5 minutes." I sigh. "Sorry." He sighs. "Rey is not Rhea love," he says and I lay down next to him and place my head on his chest.

"Oh my love I know she looks like me and acts like a sister to Lacy but she's not Rhea." I sigh. "I'm sorry I just.." He kisses my head. "I promise Killian from now on I'll forget about Rhea, well not forget but I won't think about her returning." He sighs.

"It's for the best love." I nod. "Yes my love it is."
