I opened my eyes. The air was like on Jedha: hot and burning in my chest. My ears still heard a scream in them because of the explosion. I blinked a few more times to adjust the light. The sky was yellow and the clowds in it where barelly visible. I tried to move my head to the right. It hurt. And I only saw that I was alone and that a disk was burning 100 meters away from me. The antenna. I then slowly moved my head to the left. Sand. Only sand. No plants, no ocean, no nothing... I could see where the explosion stopped: 10 miles away from my position. That's where the ocean started again.

I looked around a few more moments before I realised something. Cassian. Where is he? I tried to sat up, but I couldn't. Everything in me hurt. I looked at my legs to see they where in a weird position. I probably broke them. I tried one more time, and I could. I still had my fighting stick in my pocket. It wasn't a gun, but it was better than nothing.

I looked around one more time: no sign of people. The base still burned behind me as I saw Krennic's body up there. His chest wasn't moving. He died. The questions isn't why didn't he survive. The question is... why did I?

I tried to ignor the fact that all my friends died on this planet. I put my mind again in my alone mode: the one that I used before I was 'saved' by the Rebellion.

I got up and I felt like my legs wouldn't hold me. I got my stick out and I arranged it. Pain shot through my torso when I made the first step. "Fuck." I said under my breath as I saw the blood on my blouse. I looked up and continued to walk. Maybe I could find someone on the unharmed part of the planet. Even if a stormtrooper. I could get to his base and steal a ship to get out.

As I walked, my thoughts flew to Cassian. He saved me from Krennic. He risked his life for me. I felt some tears coming from my eyes. Or for the plans. I looked down at my feet.

There was no sound here, only my feet with my scratched boots moving on the hot sand. I took a better look at my body: ripped pants, my blouse full of wet sand and blood, my hair out of my bun and my forehead full of scratches. I sighed and continued my silent walk. Slowy, sobs started to come from my breath and I put my hands around myself. Even brave people cry sometimes.
