Kang began his career inmusical theatre, notably inThrill Me (2010), Prince Puzzle(2011), Black Mary Poppins(2012), and Assassins(2012). He later shifted to the screen, starring in thetelevision dramas The Heirs(2013) and Misaeng (2014), as well as the filmsTwenty (2015) and Dongju: The Portrait of a Poet (2015). In 2016, he starred in historical dramaMoon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo.
