Long chapter. Vote and Comment (More :P) This is a chapter about Will and Zayn's past Xx
Silence filled the car as Salma stared out of the window aimlessly. Her mind was all over the place. Anger, frustration, anxiety and misery coursed through her body in equal proportion, leaving her drained. The attack, her family's argument, the confrontation with Zayn, the indecent drawings were all swirling in her head, creating a big mess and giving her massive headache. The cherry on the top was Jason's story.
Jason admitted that he lied to her the day he stopped her outside Cody's. For whatever reasons, he had agreed to help Zayn fight the disciplinary action against him and for that he wanted to find out what Salma was going to say to the committee. He said he was hoping to convince her to be more lenient on him. Salma was filled with such dark, powerful emotions exploding inside her after Jason was done talking that she feared she was going the trash the lab.
However, when she opened her eyes upon hearing her ring tone, she realized all she did was dig her nails into her palms and clench her teeth so hard, it hurt on release.
"I - I'm sorry," Jason barely whispered again.
He was watching her silently, looking scared and close to tears. He had been apologizing, but he knew that was not enough. His impulsive actions had caused her more misery than he anticipated. Taking in a shaky a breath, Salma retrieved her phone. Her hands were shaking, with fury or weakness, she could not tell.
It was Dean.
"Coming," she rasped. Her voice was hoarse and foreign to her own ears.
Salma collected her things and stormed out of the lab before she could cave in and do something reckless.
Instead of the lot, where Dean was waiting for her. Salma headed to the bathroom first. She performed wudhu and found a secluded spot in a deserted classroom to pray two units of Salah to calm down. She was too enraged to trust herself to trust herself to stay rational. She could only trust a divine remedy to calm down. She soothed her flaring temper with cooling water, and the devilish rage with divine whispers of prayers.
She could feel Dean's concerned gaze on herand knew he was intelligent enough to have already put two and two together. And based on what he had witnessed happening around her for the last couple of days, Dean had figured it all out. He had seen her break down into tears after leaving with Zayn to see a professor. He had seen the jealousy in Zayn's eyes when he saw her at William's. He had witnessed their fierce, heated exchange. He remembered the look on Zayn's face when she was in the hospital. He had heard all his thinly veiled messages. It was not hard for Dean to put the pieces together.
Zayn was pursuing Salma, and she had finally caught up with the fact.
Salma wouldn't be surprised if Dean could feel the dread and distrust cause by the turmoil in her head rolling off of her in waves. So far, he had kept his silence though. He knew better than to ask her about it.
"You look like you are about to order lips for lunch."
Salma paused and turned to him in confusion. Dean pointedly looked at her teeth digging into her lower lip. Salma realized she had been chewing on them, probably making Dean suspect her to be on the verge of a nervous breakdown.
She let out an awkward laugh, quitting the manic action.
"I'm alright,"
"Yeah, I can tell," he replied sarcastically.
Salma clenched her jaws, digging her fingers into her arms. Pain seared through her bicep, making her eyes water. She had almost forgotten about her injury there. Gently rubbing the spot to soothe the burning ache, she turned to Dean. Before Salma could reply, however, she noticed William's car pulling into the parking lot a few cars away.
