It's "International Bee Day" 🐝🐝🐝as pointed out by Sai1806 , so I am giving you a looooooong chapter, which I had planned on splitting into two earlier. So, gimme some comments. Enjoy!
Her arm shot up, blocking his punch. Zayn attempted to elbow her but she aimed a good kick to his calves, knocking him to his knees. With one, well aimed swing that he knew he deserved, she slammed him onto the ground.
Zayn winced as pain shot through his skull, his vision going in and out of focus. He felt pressure on his chest, pinning him to the spot. Zayn tried to shove her off.
"Don't move or I have more where that came from," Sarah warned calmly.
Zayn blinked to clear his vision, his chest was heaving and sighing with heavy breaths. He realized the Snob was pushing him into the ground with her foot.
"If you try to fight pain with pain, it only gets worse," she said in a sharp, yet calm tone.
Zayn swallowed but chose to stay quiet. His head still had not recovered from the painful bang it received. Satisfied, Sarah straightened up to allow him to stand. Zayn was surprised when she offered him a hand. Then again, she was wearing thick gloves. He wondered if that made it alright for these ninjas to make physical contact with men. Keeping his opinions to himself, however, he took her hand. The glove deflated, making him realize she had pulled her hand out of it.
Before he could voice his surprise or disapproval, she heaved, helping him get up.
"Thanks," Zayn muttered, avoiding eye contact.
It was now suddenly very embarrassing.
"Now, I would pretend like none of this happened," Sarah said, pulling her glove over her fingers, "like you were not trying to provoke me into killing you. And I'll walk in that direction."
Zayn was surprised when she jabbed her finger behind her, away from dorms.
"I'd act like I never wanted to get into my room, and that I needed coffee," she continued. "Should you wish to be anywhere than out in the cold, where your vestigial tail could freeze, you know where to find me."
Zayn watched her open-mouthed as she started moving away. What made her think he would follow someone half as crazy as her? Such a snob! He huffed.
Absentmindedly, Zayn reached to feel the back of his head. He winced, jerking his hand away. A rather painful lump had started to form there.
"What a mad, mad woman," Zayn breathed out.
"I heard that!"
"You were meant to hear it!" Zayn scoffed. Stuffing his hands in his pocket, he started walking.
"Don't smirk!" he snapped when he fell in step with her.
"Ha ha!" She rolled her eyes.
"You have a very annoying way of making people follow you."
"You want me to show you how to 'unfollow' me?" She smirked again.
"I said don't smirk!"
"What made you think I'm smirking?" She challenged.
"That's how Bee's eyes crinkles when she smi –" Zayn cut off abruptly. He looked away, his heart aching again.
Sarah caught on to the clue. Bee love, she rolled her eyes, how not so cute!
"Your punches aren't right," she said, steering the conversation away as if they were talking about fighting techniques all along. "You put the right amount of strength into it but you lack mobility when you switch your targets."
