Tina's POV
Its been a month since Dezi's first word.
We are sitting at lunch. Dezi's in front of me and Jeremy's to my right.
"Its amazing you can say 'hi', but don't think we're pressuring you. We love this Dezi as well as old Dezi. We don't mind if you don't speak or if you do. We just want our Dezi. 'K?"
     I hold her hand.
     She nods and smiles.
Dezi's POV
I squeeze her hand and a familiar guy sits next to me. I turn away and let go of Tina's hand.
"Oh? Is she a lesbian too?" He teases me.
I turn to him and slap him over the head.
He laughs. "You're a funny one."
I get my phone. *And you're an annoying one.*
"Hurtful." He wraps his arms around my waist and lays his head on my shoulder.
I let him and just look at older pictures of me when I had natural blonde hair.
"Ooh! You used to be a blonde?"
I nod and look at him.
"You never told me!" Tina stands. up. "And why are you two so close!?"
"Whoa! I'm just her friend, Jason." He defends.
"Why should I believe you!?" She yells.
I get up and start to walk away.
"Dezi!" Jason catches up and makes me stop. "I'm sorry."
I shrug. I hold his hand as we walk around outside.
     "Are you pretending?"
     I shake my head.
"Good. Are you still hung up?"
     I look at him, confused.
     "About Janice."
     I shrug.
"Sorry for bringing her up." He hugs me and I hug back. He rubs my back. "Dezi, is your mom in town?"
     I shake my head.
"Do you want me to watch over you?"
I nod as the wind gets heavy. I move closer to him and we go inside. I shiver as we go to his locker and takes out and extra jacket, giving it to me. I smile and put it on over my crop top.
     He takes me to class.
"Jason!" A girl walks up. "Get away from her." She pulls him away before either of us can react.
