Chapter 3

Y/N
"Yes I am. It's nice to meet you Y/N." He slightly nodded while a faint smile lit up across his face.
Ah shit. He is a kidnapper.
"I like your umbrella." You murmured while examining it being hovered above you, blocking you from the pouring rain.
∆∆∆
You guys walked alongside each other under the umbrella, as it was hard to find room.
"Here why don't you stay in? I'm fine getting drenched by the rain." As he was about to move out, you grabbed his wrist, preventing him from doing so.
NO no I'm putting up a fight. We're going down together. You ain't going anywhere.
"So how'd you know my name mister?" You questioned while walking.
He stuttered at first, not being able to mutter out an answer, leaving his mouth to be hung open.
"You're going to catch flies idiot." You mumbled quietly after seeing him look so dumbfounded.
"Oh, by the way, thank you for technically saving me two times already." You sighed heavily in thought of your bullshit match.
Maybe you shouldn't doubt him too much. He did help you.
"Well- it was the right thing to do. Everyone would've helped you if they saw the situation you were in."
"Probably not after seeing me yell like a psycho. Should I tell you something funny? I think the association actually messed up this time."
He widened his eyes as he looked over.
"So today is my 21st birthday, which you may know as the day where you get match made. And just like everyone else, I should receive a match who would fulfill my dreams of love, right?!"
"Mhm." He hummed in response, signaling that he was listening.
"No records of divorce or any conflict in general? Bullshit. A conflict just occurred with my match. I dumped him- he dumped me. The date ended after about 30 minutes in. Society really messed up." You looked over at the man beside you as his eyes seemed like it was going to pop out any second.
"Uh- uh Y/N I'm sorry to hear that." He said while his grip on the umbrella loosened up, tilting it, quickly grabbing it once again.
You stopped walking as so did he after seeing you.
"What's wrong?" He asked after returning back to his old state.
You pointed your thumb in the direction to the taxi next to you, "Taxi. Thank you so much for everything you did for me today. Glad to know you're not a kidnapper."
"Wait wha-"
"jk"
A warm and gentle smile spread across your face as he showed a cute one too, curving up on one side, back at you.
"No problem. And back to your question from before-how do I know your name?"
You waited patiently putting your hand on the door of the taxi.
"I was your matchmaker, Jung Hoseok." He smiled as the rain had stopped at this point, leaving you struck dumbfounded. He left, folding his vibrantly colored umbrella and walking off.

"Why are you home so quick Y/N?!" Iseul exclaimed while rushing toward you and taking you into the house.
"Uh... well I guess our utopian love society isn't so perfect." You sighed as you threw my high heels off.
"You dumped him?!" She exclaimed with widened eyes.
"No... well-"
"He dumped you?!"
"No... well-"
"Then what?!"
"I guess we both dumped each other."
She furrowed her eyebrows in anger, "Y/N it was your one chance to meet your best love."
"Well it's not my fault he's crap! It's.... my matchmaker's fault." You looked down thinking about why Hoseok even assigned a match like him to you.
I mean he carries around a my little pony umbrella so...
"Okay. We can't let the public know about this. Our society's reputation would go soaring down. What are we gonna do now?" She sighed while entering the kitchen as you followed along.
"I know that myself too." You stared out into open space as Iseul handed you a cup of coffee.
"Thanks." You carried it upstairs leaving Iseul in the kitchen.
You entered your room and went out to your veranda that overlooked the farmlands and houses that were separated distantly from each other in Daegu. It was way different from Seoul, where you just were.
You inhaled the refreshing breeze as it hit your light brown hair behind you.
