Sometimes things just got too much – it didn't seem like you could cope, or think about anything else apart from the one subject that was getting you down. The amount of times you would try to distract yourself by doing some school work, reading a book, going for a walk and unfortunately none of those attempts worked.
You could never really determine the reason as to why you were so down at times. It wasn't as if there was a concrete and definitive cause every single time, the majority of the time it would just hit you by surprise and you had to attempt to cope with it or not cope with it and keep yourself to yourself.
For the past hour, you had been sat at the docks with your feet dangling over the edge of the dock and over the water.
You found yourself getting some form of calm by looking out over the water, things seemed less hectic and real when you were able to zone out.
Hearing footsteps behind you, you decided against turning around as you knew full well who it would be.
The person sat down next to you, and put their arm around your shoulder, "Why are you crying?" they asked in a soft tone.
Your boyfriend of two years, Henry, had come out to find you after you had not been in Granny's like you usually were.
You didn't answer him and he gently reached over to wipe the tears away from your cheeks "Please, Baby, tell me what's wrong" he pleaded with you.
"I don't know" you stated whilst still staring out at the sea, before turning your gaze to the boy next to you, "I really don't know – I just don't feel like myself" you tried to explain what was going through your head.
Henry turned to kiss the side of your head "I understand what it's like Baby, you know I do" he told you as he comfortingly traced shapes on your shoulder.
You nodded in acknowledgement, moving closer to him, "I'm sorry, I doubt you want to be talking to me like I am a child" you apologised to him, not wanting to bring his mood down.
He sighed and lifted your chin up so that you were facing him "Don't apologise for being sad okay? That's not a reason to apologise" he dismissed your apology with his words "We're in a relationship and that means I will be there for you whether you're upset, hyper, angry, tired and anything else you could possibly be" he smiled at you as he spoke.
You returned his smile, and he leant down to kiss you gently, "Shall we go and get a hot chocolate?"
