Of course, you never thought that you would end up dating a character from the fairy tales that you grew up with.
That idea alone was surreal.
But then to know that these people actually existed in reality – that was another thing.
Your life had been relatively normal until you moved to Storybrooke with your brother, as he had met a girl there.
Storybrooke was not a place that you had heard of before. You didn't even know that it existed.
You moved because you wanted a change of scenery, and where you were living had gotten old so you wanted something different, something new.
Something different was most definitely what you got.
Turned out, the girl that your brother had met was actually a girl more commonly known as Red Riding Hood.
You couldn't quite believe it when he told you but getting used to it wasn't as difficult as you thought it could have been.
It had been a year since you first moved to Storybrooke and since then, you had become extremely close with a certain fairy tale princess.
Due to your love of books, you and Belle had grown unbelievably close and you couldn't imagine your life without her which was crazy.
It wasn't unusual for your brother to come home and find you and Belle sat on the sofa with your noses buried in your individual books.
Occasionally the two of you would look up and smile, or comment on a passage you were reading, but for the most part it was relatively silent.
"Do you ever think we can actually turn out like the stories?"
Belle looked up from her book at your words – confusion written across her face.
"You know...happy."
She smiled at you. "I believe you can be whatever you want to be."
You rolled your eyes before answering her. "I didn't want your fairy tale answer. I want your reality check answer."
"My deepest apologies," she spoke with sarcasm in her tone. "I don't think that stories are ever that realistic. We may want to be a certain way; however, books make things out to be so much easier than they actually are."
You smiled at her. "I wish the stories could be real."
"Our world is," she stated with a smile.
"I never really would fit into the fairy tale world."
She shrugged, as if that didn't matter to her. "You fit into my world Y/N."
