"Alex, this is Acid. Acid, she is Jonathan's lawyer." The day isnt yet done. We went to Mississippi to check on Jonathan's lawyer. Alex Grande.
"Have a seat first." She offered the seat infront of her office table so we sat quietly.
"So .." She smiled and looked at us.
"How are you related to my client?" She asked.
"Im not related to Mr. Ingrid. But i am the only daughter of his fellow police person, Sheriff Officer Jacob Sacramento." I answered.
She widened her eyes then looked at Wentworth, like asking if i am telling her the truth.
I saw Wentworth smiled and nodded.
"Wow. This is kinda amazing. I never expected to see you, Acid." She touched my hands.
"Why not?" Detective smirked.
"I actually read an article about someone in the name of Acid Sacramento from the anonymous writer of New York Times. Its not that important, though some times it once became hot in the news stations because of the mystery of Acid's life. Is it real?" She asked me looking for something underneath her table.
I was kinda surprised about that. I am not either a big star at Philippines or anything, but how it happened that someone here from New York City covered up my life? Im not that famous. I hate fame because it will trigger the other competetors of me to shoot me out in my head.
Specially, i am a simple rookie private investigator in our department. Some of the policemen at our Department dont even know me.
This is mysterious.
"Here. Look at this." She showed an old newspaper to me. I saw an article having headline news like, "19 year old teen getting into the top after screwing up the lies and unreal statements of Danica Gil's death case- Acid Sacramento, from Criminal Investigating trainee team ...."
This is creepy.
"We need to know who is that writer." Wentworth said.
"How?" I asked.
"My girlfriend will help." He answered.
"So anyway, why are you here again?" Alex snapped up.
"We would like to know if you have anything to share with us about Jonathan's case. We are currently investigating, as you can see." Wentworth asked.
But then, her expression changed in a snap.
"The court already closed his case." She said.
"We are going to take him out. You know and we all know that Jonathan and my father is not guilty. We need to work on it, Miss Grande." I pleaded.
"But we have no strong evidences. Those recordings, fingerprints and bloods found in the knife is positively against us." She said sadly.
"And they havent yet saw our proofs right?" Wentworth said.
"The reaper clean up the mess after killing your father and the two other victims. The set up really supports their side. Hard work is not going to help it out." She said hopelessly.
"So i am all right." I looked at Wentworth that is grinning sexily at me.
Damn.
"Right in what?" Alex asked.
"That they framed my father and Jonathan up." I said.
She stopped and did facepalm.
"Ill tell you this but please be careful in listening. This is how it happened by how Jonathan saw it." She clasp my hand saying that.
I nodded.
"Last January when it happened. While having his one week leave, Jonathan receive a letter saying his son was confined in one of New York City's private hospital. He went there to see him. He saw his son, with your Father, Sir Jacob talking to his doctor. He asked your father if he is the one who send the letter, Sir Jacob answered no. It triggered his anger out, and he accused your father being a liar and everything. He also accused your father, he might be afraid in taking those responsibilities because he is the one who hit his child in the head causing the child to get severe hemorrhage. The report cause trouble and it did explain that your father have a great grudge against Jonathan." She explained.
"But what really happened anyway? Did Jacob really did that?" Wentworth asked.
"Sir Jacob repeatedly tell him and everyone that he didnt did that. He didnt did anything to Shiloah.
"Where is that kid then?" I asked. Alex looked at me.
"After being diagnosed with a severe kind of mental disorder, triggering a bit of Alzheimer's disease in his system, he was took off the mental hospital and was now living his Grandmother." Alex replied.
I caught Wentworth's glance. He must be into something now.
"That's just the beginning. If we'll found who might did it, the one who send the letter and the one who hit Shiloah, it might help the rest of mysteries of the called reaper." She said.
"Its a great thing meeting you, Alex. We need to go anyway." Wentworth stood up as he pulled me in my left wrist.
"Yes. Hope to see you soon again." She stand up and shook my hands, and Wentworth's too.
After eating a piece of cheeseburger for lunch, we drive home since its already 3:00pm in the afternoon.
"You seemed bothered." I heard Wentworth spoke in a sudden.
"The hole is getting deeper." I looked at him grinning.
He formed a smile in his lips. "What are your plans for tomorrow then?"
"I will re read those notes and try to observe anything at the things we found at the basement lately." I answered.
"How about the kid?" He asked.
"We'll check on him soon." I smiled at him.
He grinned purposely. I suspected, he's having already his own insights and conclusions.
"Do you have any conclusions now?" I asked.
"Yup. Pretty much accurate on yours, too." He said.
I replied a smile at him.
