When We Were Young (Derek Hale)

Chapter 4

I was driving trying to find some speeding vehicles when a call came into the radio about the second half of the body being found oh and that it was on Derek's property which means he's a suspect and I have to arrest him. Awesome. I figured I would give him a heads up that is if he answers his damn phone.

"What" He answered

"Well hello to you too, f.y.i I am on my way to arrest you right now" I said

"What?" He asked

"Someone found Laura in your yard , so I'm gonna hang up and your going to delete your call history okay"

"Okay" He said pissed off.

"See you soon" I joked

I arrived before anyone else. I walked up and knocked on the door three times. Once he answered he was the definition of pissed. "Derek hale, you are under arrest with suspension of murder, you have the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be used in the court of law, you have the right to an attorney if you cannot afford an attorney the court will appoint you with one. Do you understand your rights as they have been said to you?" I said kinda enjoying myself.

"Yes" I replied as he sat in the back on my police car. Since no one else showed up yet and I was told to wait. I decided to talk to him as I sat up front.

"Who wants you in jail?" I asked

Silence

"Derek Dammit I am trying to work with you here" I said

"Then why am I in handcuffs?" He asked

"Derek I'm going to help you without losing my job okay?"

With a sigh he finally answered "Scott Mccall and his stupid friend" He said

"Why would Scott and Stiles want you arrested?" I asked

Silence.

"Derek I will tazze you" I said

With a roll of the eyes he said " Scott was bitten by the alpha he's a werewolf now and I threatened him by telling him he couldn't play the dumb lacrosse game tonight." He replied

"Scott is a Werewolf!" I shouted

"Yes"

"Look you can't hurt him okay, he was sucked into this." I said

"I wasn't going to hurt him, just threaten him. He is going to end up exposing me...us"

That's when the rest of the police showed up along with stiles' jeep. "We will figure this out, for now, don't do anything stupid" I said and got out of the car to go talk to the sheriff.

"So now what?" I asked I asked the sheriff. He didn't reply he was just looking off in the distance with a disappointed look on his face. Looking in the direction he was I saw Stiles getting into the front of my cop car. Typical Stiles. "I'm gonna go get him, and ask him how the hell he came upon all this." He said and walked off.

I saw Scott leaning against Stiles' jeep and decided to talk to him about his new abilities. Right off the bat I noticed how much he changed. He looked more muscular now and don't think I didn't notice he doesn't have the inhaler he would always carry around. Scotty was bitten by a werewolf and has no idea what is going on. Walking up to him giving him a nod and leaning against the jeep next to him, I decided to tell him the truth.

"I know Scott" I said

He looked at me In shock like I just told him somebody died. I know I am about to be a bitch but he really can't play this game tomorrow. He will change out on the field. Derek and my brothers would always fight shifting during a game of just basketball, I could only imagine what lacrosse is like. They were born and still had trouble. Scott well he was only just bitten.

"What are you talking about" He asked

"I mean I know what happened to you and it sucks it really does Scott. But you need to know the dangers of playing the game tonight. Your emotions will be peaked and you will hurt someone. You need to learn how to control it before you get out on the field." I said and the whole time he still had that face that told me that he couldn't believe that I knew the truth.

"I—What-How ..." He said. It was kinda cute how he couldn't get the words out.

"I won't be there Scott and I won't hurt you. I promise. And I'll make sure Derek doesn't either" I said "I just want to tell you there are things you need to change now that you're a werewolf, once the wolf takes over you aren't you anymore, you are a monster". I said "don't tell Stiles I know yet please I could only imagine what he will do and the things he will say to his father." I said and walked away. Now all I gotta do I figure out how the hell to get Derek out of jail and hope and pray Scott doesn't kill someone on the field tonight. I sat down in the front of my car and both Derek and I sat in silence.

"I talked to him Derek but I am 100% sure he will still play. He's a teenager you did that same thing when you were young." I said referring to the time he was about to lose control before a basketball game.

"Well then If someone dies it's on you, I tried" Derek said

"Scott is smart he will figure it out and do what's best." I said as I turned on my sirens and drove Derek to the police station.
