It's been a week since I broke up with Derek and it's been the worse week of my life. I don't even know what to do with myself. I've been lying in bed doing nothing. Just looking at my ceiling and thinking about all the happy times I had with Derek. I talked to Laura for a little bit, let's say she took the breakup with Stephen way better than Derek did. She understands, he didn't. She told me that he's been in and out of the house lately and that someone she didn't know has been taking him to school and hanging out with him. She said she doesn't know who she is but when she told me I felt my heart drop. It's been a whole week and he has already moved on. I guess I'm not surprised. I am not worth holding on to.

In a couple of days, we were invited for one last get together at the Hale house along with a couple other Hale's visiting from out of town. Of course, my mother and father agreed. One good thing is that Derek won't be there. It's during school hours and him and Laura will be at school.

I was walking to the coffee café to get a drink. I never really liked coffee because I thought it tasted awful but I required a taste for it now. It is just something to help me stay awake during the day. All I've been doing is sleeping. I went ahead and ordered a coffee and waiting for it. I looked around for a place to sit but the place was packed. I finally located a seat that was sitting across from a young woman about 2 or 3 years older than I was. I walked up to her and asked her if the seat in front of her was taken.

"I'm sorry sweetheart I am waiting on someone" She answered. When I looked at her she looked so damn familiar like it was on the tip of my tongue and I couldn't figure it out. "I think he is running a little late though so if you want to sit down for a couple of minutes you can" She suggested. I smiled at her and took a seat.

"Thank you, sorry for interrupting your date or whatever" I said

"Oh it's no problem, besides it hasn't even started he was supposed to be here a half hour ago" She states. Huh, Derek used to do the same thing to me. Of course, he would always make up for it. Poor guy never even thought to look at a clock. I noticed the necklace that was hanging from her neck. It was a necklace I saw at a boutique on day with Derek. I was so mesmerized with it. I thought it was beautiful.

"I used to know someone who did the same thing" I said "it's annoying"

"Yeah tell me about it" She said.

"Order for Haley. Ready" the coffee lady shouted. I got up from my seat and smiles at the girl. "I'm sorry I didn't get your name?" I asked.

"Kate, yours?" She asked back.

"Haley, I may see you around or not but it was nice meeting you" She said

"Yeah, you too" I said and walked away with my coffee. As I was walking out I don't know what told me to look back but I did. I saw Derek walk into the coffee shop. Derek hates coffee, so I wondered why he was going in there. I walked back up to the shop close enough to see through the glass. I noticed he didn't order anything and sat with Kate. What the hell? It was then I started to piece things together. Laura telling me he has been getting rides and being in and out of the house constantly. The necklace that I was in love with that Derek knew about around her neck. This was Derek's new girlfriend. She was beautiful. I understand why he got over me so fast.

When I went home I decided to pack up my last couple of boxes. This was just stuff that I had lying around. I started with the things on my desk. I had a couple school books the teachers let me keep. I don't know why I am probably never going to look at them. Then there was pictures of me and Derek. The first one was one of us at lookout point kissing each other. The other was one of us passed out of the couch cuddling each other, photo credit to my mother. Then the last one wasn't one of us at all. It was the picture of the Argents my mother and father was talking about. I went to put it in the box when I glanced at it one more time. The young lady on the left of the picture was familiar. After a couple of seconds, I realized she was the woman at the shop. Derek's new girlfriend! I must warn him before he gets hurt.

I ran to the Hale house and knocked on the door repeatedly. Derek's father answered. "Hi Mr. Hale I was wondering if Derek was home?" I asked.

Confusion on his face he said. "He's up in his room feel free to go on up there" He said inviting me inside. As soon as he let me pass I ran upstairs to Derek's room and walked in. Derek was lying on his bed listening to music and didn't even hear me come in.

"Derek!" I shouted. He jumped up from his bed and pulled out the ear buds. He looked at me in shock at first, then in anger.

"What are you doing here?" He asked harshly.

"I saw you at the coffee shop" I said

"So?" He said.

"I saw you with that lady" I said.

"And you care why? We broke up" He stated clearly.

"Okay I get that but hear me out okay?" He just nodded "After I went home I started to pack up some more things and I came across a picture of a hunter family that my parents warned me about. The Argents. And well that lady you're seeing...she is one of them" I said in a rush. Derek furrowed his eyebrows.

"What the hell are you talking about Haley?" He asked.

"I'm talking about this" I said and gave him the picture to look at for himself. He snatched the picture from me and looked at it. After looking at it for a couple of second he ripped it up and threw it in the trash. I quickly stepped forward to stop him but he was too fast.

"What the hell Derek" I shouted at him.

"That picture doesn't prove she is a hunter Haley" He said "Go away"

"No, Derek my parents warned me about them" I said

"Well they are wrong, her last name is Wagner" He said.

"Why won't you listen to me?" I shouted back.

"Because everything has been a lie with you" He shouted "You led me on all this time making me think you actually liked me. Why?" He shouted.

"Derek I only said that because you wouldn't let me break up with you. I lied" I said

"Shut up Haley, I listened to your heartbeat it was steady." He said.

"Derek, I literally grew up with werewolves they taught me a couple of tricks. Like how to lie to another werewolf." I explained.

"I still don't believe you, and even if you are telling me the truth it doesn't matter, we are still broken up. Maybe you're just jealous" He said walking closer to me. If I want to tell the truth it's true. I am jealous of Kate. She was beautiful. Am I'm just me.

"So what if I am Derek, she is a hunter, you are going to get hurt, just like Sam, haven't you realized you are going in the same direction Sam did?" I asked.

"I know what I am doing Haley, we are just having a good time" He said and took a couple steps back. His words stopped me in my tracks. A good time? Is he talking about sex?

"Are you sleeping with her?" I asked quietly.

"Go home Haley" He said. I ignored him.

"You gave her my necklace" I asked with tears in my eyes. Derek was sitting on the edge of his bed not looking at me.

"Well I was going to give it to you but you sorta broke up with me so I gave it to her" He explained. "Now go home"

"You know what Derek, fuck you" I said and walked out of his room and out of the house. I tried to warn him but he didn't want to listen. Whatever happens to him it's his fault now.
