Chapter 22

I didn't even know where to start to look for Derek. I tried every abandoned warehouse and factory to try and see where he was being held but it was useless. I decided to call it on my fifth try and just go home. I am not giving up but I am tired and I need some sleep if I am going to be hunting down an alpha. I walked into my house and set my keys on the counter. How did my life end up like this? My best friend is dead. There is an alpha killing people in my town. And a boy I thought I would one day marry has lied to me for 4 years. And the boy I thought I was going to marry In high school came back. Crazy, that is what my life is now.

Third person POV

Derek was chained up attached to an electrical current to a machine controlled by Kate. She was currently going through his jacket. "Come on Derek, he killed your sister, now either you aren't telling me either because you wanna kill him yourself or for some reason your protecting him." She said. She chuckled at his picture on his driver's license. "oh, ha, ha, look at that sour face, bet you used to always get people coming up to you saying smile Derek, why don't you smile more? Don't you just wanna kick those people in the face?" She asked.

"I can think of one" Derek said referring to her.

"Promise? Cause if I thought you would be that much fun, I'll let you go" She said as she walked over to the table and picked up his phone. "let's see, nothing, nothing, nothing, God I hate this detective crap" She said.

"Are you going to torture me, or are you just gonna talk me to death, huh?" Derek asked

"Oh, sweetie I don't wanna torture you, I just wanna catch up" She said "Remember all the fun we had together?"

"Like the time you burnt my family alive?" Derek asked

"No, I was thinking more of all the crazy hot sex we had, but the fire thing, yeah that was fun too" She said earning a growl from Derek. She just laughed. "I love how much you hate me, remember how this felt" She said as she ran her tongue up his stomach which earned another growl from Derek. "Oh sweetheart I really don't want to torture you" She said as the door opened. "But he does" She said talking about the man who walked in. The man that everyone thought ditched town after his incident with Haley. Dean.

A whole hour of torture later Kate was sitting at the desk frustrated. "Unfortunately Derek, if you aren't going to talk I am just going to have to kill you so, say hi to your sister for me, you did tell her about me didn't you? The truth about the fire? Or did you? Did you tell anybody? Of course Haley knew it before it even happened, she is a smart girl, she is the one you let get away huh Derek?" He just kept looking down. "She warned you about me, but you were to stubborn to listen, that's just a lot of guilt to get buried" She said. "I wonder if you would talk if she came down for a visit, what do you say Derek?" She said turning around and looking at him

"Leave her alone, she has nothing to do with any of this" He said glaring at her.

"oh but she does Derek, seems like those feeling you had for her that you kept buried down deep inside you are finally coming to the surface since you've seen her, you will talk. I know you will" She said laughing. "Dean has been wanting to see her anyway, the whole shooting thing really pissed him off" Kate said walking away leaving Derek with worry of what will happen next.

Haley's POV

I woke up in the middle of the night with the feeling of someone watching me. I acted like I was just moving in my sleep but instead I was reaching for the gun I kept under my pillow, but it wasn't there.

"Looking for this" I heard a familiar voice ask, I looked up and saw Dean standing there with my gun. "Don't move, you're coming with me" He said. He grabbed my arm and I managed to punch him in the face. While he was distracted I made a move and kicked him in the nuts and ran. I made it to the kitchen when he managed to tackle me on the ground and flip me around so that he was facing me. He had my arms pinned to the ground above my head. I was stuck.

"Oh, I missed you" He said and forcefully kissed me. Taking this position as an advantage I bit his lip, I literally punctured a hole the size of my tooth into his lip.

"AHH! YOU BITCH" He yelled and let go of my arm to hold his lip. I took this time and punched him in the face. But before my hand connected with his face he caught it and pinned it back above me.

"Nice try hun" He said and brought his hand up and punched me, The pain of his hand connecting to my face hurt like hell. It hurt even worse when he did it a second time, third, fourth, I was starting to get dizzy now and I passed out on the fifth punch.

When I came too I was sitting in a chair with something over my head so I couldn't see . I tried to move my hands but they were tied to the chair I was sitting in. I moaned trying to move. My head hurt so bad, I could only imagine what it looked like. I knew there were people In here cause I heard them talking I was just too distracted to listen.

"Well, I think she is waking up" I heard a female say, sounded like Kate.

"Banged her up pretty good, she probably isn't with it" Dean said.

" I got it from here you can go" Kate said "Thank you". I heard the door start to open when I heard a gun cock and BANG! I almost jumped out of my skin. Then I heard a body fall to the floor. At this point I was terrified. Did Dean just kill Kate, am I next? The thing that was covering me from seeing was removed from my head and I looked up and saw Kate. I looked behind me and Dean was dead. Kate shot Dean. In front of me was Derek, chained up and tortured. He had a look of shock on his face as well as I.

"What?" Kate asked "Nobody likes a women beater, I mean have you seen your face? You look horrible"

"What the hell do you want you bitch" I asked.

"Well I want a lot of things, for one, I wanna know who the alpha is and one of you guys are going to tell me or you are going to watch the other die. I'll let you guys talk it out" She said and walked out. I just kept looking down.

"Are you okay?" Derek asked. Stupid question.

"Do I look okay" I said looking up at him. I could hardly see out of my right eye from is being swollen so much, I saw him flinch as I looked up at him.
"I'm sorry Haley, I'm so sorry" he said.

"Stop apologizing, Dean was going to come after me again, it was only a matter of time." I said "Derek, Peter, you can't work with him, I know you think it was a mistake but he did it on purpose. Laura came back to town because she received a picture with a deer with a spiral on its side. Peter did it Derek, he brought Laura here so he could kill her and become the alpha" I said through the pain. "Please, Derek believe me" I said.

"I believe you, I will always believe you Haley, you're the only one I trust" He said.

"Good now will you help me kill him?" I asked.

"I'll kill him, you look like you're going to pass out any second" He said. He wasn't lying, If I talked too fast or moved my eyes too much I was overtaken with darkness but I fought it off. I tried to get out of these handcuffs but they were too tight.

"I can't get out" I said

Before Derek could answer we heard a howl from the distance. It was extremely loud even I could hear it. Before I could question it Derek let out his own howl. I looked at him confused.

"Scott is on his way" He said.
