"Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God!" I chanted repeatedly as I raced with the other police cars in order to catch the one and only Derek Hale, the most wanted fugitive in the entire state. I didn't want to chase him like this but I was just doing my job and I explained that to him. I said that I can't protect him within the police force and he understood.

"Attention all units, suspect is on foot heading to the iron works" Dispatch said over the radio.

"Oh come on!" I yelled and sped up my cruiser. I followed behind the sheriff and had two other cars follow behind me. Once we reached the iron works we stepped out of our cars and went to the entrance. Trying to think of a way for Derek to get free I knew the dogs wouldn't catch him.

"Let's send the dogs!" I shouted. Almost 10 seconds after we let them loose they came running back whining. Thank God. Derek had some leeway to escape that is if hunters weren't after him.

"What the hell" Sheriff questioned. I just walked back to my car and called Scott.

"Did you get him?" I asked before he could even say hello.

"Yeah he's in the car with me" He replied.

"Put him on" I demanded.

"I thought I told you to lay low, do you even understand how close we came to catching you!" I yelled at him.

"I couldn't just sit back and do nothing Haley, I was talking to Harris, he talked to Laura before she died" Derek explained.

"Just be more careful okay? Now there is absolutely no questioning if you are the criminal or not someone innocent wouldn't run like that"

"Yeah okay, see you later" He said and hung up

Once I got home I hoped into the shower to wash the day off. I started to think about everything that happened. Everything with Laura and then Scott and Derek. The biggest change for me was Dean. I still feel numb for what he did to me. I went to visit him but the hospital said he signed himself out. My guess is that he left town. Good I think I would kill him if I were ever to see him again. I am being serious too. Once I was done I wrapped up in a towel and went to get a class of water. As I walked on the white tile floor I looked up and there was Derek, standing in the doorway of the kitchen.

"Dammit!" I yelled covering myself up more. I keep forgetting he has been staying here. I quickly hid behind the corner. "You know you could at lease knock or something." I shouted at him.

He walked to where I was obviously not caring that I was practically naked other than the small towel covering me. "Sorry" He said and then his eyes averted to my scars. The damage the fire left on me wasn't just on my mind. As I was escaping out of the window the fire managed to get the right side of my arm and leg. His eyes stayed there for a moment then he looked back up at me. "I'll knock next time" He whispered and walking away. And here I was thinking Derek couldn't get any weirder.

Moments later I walked out fully clothed and took a seat next to him on the couch. He informed me that the necklace Harris mentioned was the last thing he told Laura. "So, what does a necklace have to do with finding out who the alpha is?" I asked.

"I don't know but Scott said that Allison has it so he is going to look into it" Derek replied sipping on the beer he stole from the kitchen.

"What are you going to do?" I asked him.

"Well I am going to go to sleep. You should too you look like you haven't slept in days" He said as he got up.

"I haven't" I said "It's kinda hard to sleep when you got an alpha killing people in your town, reoccurring nightmares, and I can't stop thinking about Dean" I said letting out all my frustrations. I looked up at him and he looked concerned.
