I couldn't take the heat. The heat of the room, the heat from the sun or the heat from this lady's piercing eyes. None of us could.
"So what do you have to say for yourselves," she asks, wanting an answer right there on the spot. The 3 of us look at each other, hoping maybe one of us has the guts to speak up. Luckily, one of us did. However, I wish it wasn't her.
Sorry Brooke.
"Well, I'm pretty hungover," and she gives a very, VERY sly smirk. Tyler face palms himself, then lifts his head back up to whisper up to God a faint, "why". Brooke is cool and everything, but sometimes, I wish she didn't have that take-charge attitude.
"Excuse me! This is unacceptable!"
Oh no. I'm not letting this happen. I'm not getting expelled because of one measly night.
"Don't!....say what you're about to say. Can we explain?"
"What is there to explain?"
Tyler chimes in to help out,"Lots ma'am. It'll all make sense if you let us explain."
"Yeah, jus lettuce esplain," Brooke says, slurring her words and almost falling off the chair. The old lady looks at her assistant, wanting another person's opinion for her decision. Luckily, it led to her letting us talk.

"Dude isn't this exciting," exclaims Tyler. I guess I could say I'm excited. But to be honest, what's so exciting? I'm a 14 year old freshman boy apparently in the stage of his life where he's gotta "find" himself. It's not exactly something you should go post on twitter or shout out to the world.
But to keep Tyler from being the nosy kid he is, I simply say,"Super excited."
Then he starts a list about why he's excited and reenters his own little world.
Typical Tyler.
While he keeps rambling on, I take in the scenery of Lase High. It's pretty large, of course, compared to my middle school. All the laughing and smiling faces suddenly stop when we walk by. Whispers being said like,"Noobs," or,"Awkward freshmen."
The halls are long and seem to go on forever. Like in movies where there's a hallway with random doors on the sides. There are linings on the ceiling and floor of yellow and black with black lockers along the walls. Kids run around laughing, smirking, or straight up being hella weird on lockers. Please, watch your PDA people.
Suddenly my attention gets sidetracked when I get smacked on the back side of my head. Ouch.
"Tyler?! Why'd you do that?"
"Dude I didn't do anything!"
Then I heard a smug laugh,"Hahaha, sup suckers." Geez Brooke. Why you gotta be so cruel? Or so care free... whatever you may be.
"Oh, hey Brooke. How are you?"
"Perfectly swell. I won't ask you how you are cause I already know, quiet as usual," and she sticks out her tongue, mocking my introvertness. I roll my eyes and walk in front of her and Tyler. I wanna ignore them but I don't wanna ditch them either. She begins talking to Tyler, asking how he's been and if he's beaten the next level on his game. When he replies with a disappointed,"no," Brooke laughs out loud and gives him a noogie. Brooke's freaking crazy. Like a literal,"Who's picking you up today, your mother or the insane asylum?" Kinda crazy.
I don't say that to her face. Of course.
But she's Brooklyn Jacster. She could care less. Gotta appreciate that care free spirit.
