"Secretary?" I asked the man looking down at me, handing me a folded up pair of clothes.

"Yes, be lucky we're taking pity in a siren slash ex bandit." He spat back.

I grabbed the pile of clothing and headed towards the bathroom, changing out of my bandit clothing as my mask fell from my pocket. I picked it up from the floor and examined it, the cracked glasses and skag skin cover. I placed it back on the old pile of clothing and soon began to get dressed, a pencil skirt and loose yellow blouse. My name tag already clipped to it and the Hyperion symbol stapled above it, I looked down at it and watched it shine off of the light. I bent down and pulled out Jacks pocket watch, watching it light back up and the chain dangle out of my hand. I pinned it to the side of my skirt and clipped the chain to the belt loop, I looked down at it as this was only on his body a few hours before. I untucked my shirt a bit to hide it for now.

I picked up the pair of black heels with yellow painted bottoms, slipping them on and picking up my old clothes. I began walking out of the bathroom and to the living quarters I was given. I had no idea that you could actually live on Helios, then again it is a space station so it would be a hard commute.

I opened the door to a room about the size of a bandit hut, a bed in the corner, a small kitchen with smaller oven and fridge. A tiny arm chair was two feet away from the bed with a desk in front of it, a blue pad laying on top of it. In front of the bed laid a dresser with more clothing sitting on top of it.

I walked over and began to put everything away, I sat down on the bed, it was definitely more comfortable than my cot. Hyperion does take good care of their employees, that's one good thing about the business.

The pad on my desk began to blink, I leaned over and grabbed it to see that I was already on call. I pushed myself up from my bed and left my living quarters, closing the door behind me and clicking my heals across the linoleum floor. The pad began to buzz more as I started running in my heels, pushing open the giant doors to see the new president of Hyperion.

"Good, you finally made it." The man standing behind the desk groaned.

"What would you like me to do, sir?" I asked, keeping my eyes towards the floor.

"Well, first why don't you come here and grab these stacks of ECHO pads and check if they need any mending."

"Anything else?"

"I will directly forward my calls to your desk phone in the other office, let me know if they're worth my time or not." He sat back down in his chair and continued to look through his computer.

"Are we going to do anything for Handsome Jack?" I asked hastily, he shot me a look of anger through his white hair.

"Handsome Jack will be put through the same process of passing on just as every other president."

"What is that?" I asked quickly walking over and grabbing the pile of ECHO pads.

"There will be a five minute ceremony and then he will either be shot out into space or cryogenically frozen depending on what his loved ones have to say," he pushed himself back into his chair, "and seeing as how he has no loved ones left, he will be sent off into space." He took a framed picture off of the desk and dropped it into the trash, I could only imagine who was in that portrait.

"What about me?"

"You were his five second fling, you don't count as a loved one," he waved his hand away, "no go before I get angry."

I quickly walked out of his office and into mine, flicking on the lights as they quickly illuminated the room. I set the ECHO pads down on my desk and sat in the chair, my feet were already starting to kill me from the discomforting heels. I pulled one of the ECHO pads over to my area and started tapping around on it, using various applications and seeing that it was fine.

I went through at least twenty that worked and ten that didn't, my fingers singeing from the damaged pads. I had only gotten three phone calls through the day and they were all people who wanted to set up meetings with the new president and one call to talk about removing the busts of Handsome Jacks head out of the office. Hyperion seemed to be working fine without Jack and it was almost sickening.

There was knock on my door, the president dismissing me from my office. I grabbed the good pads and handed them to him, he took them back into his office as I took the defective ones to the workshop where they were made.

"Thank you miss." The man stated, grabbing the pads.

"No problem." I yawned, the man kept his eyes on my hips, eyeing the pocket watch that was clipped to the hem of my skirt.

"Didn't that belong to Handsome Jack?" He asked, pointing at my waist.

"Yes, it did but... I have it now." I stated, nodding my head.

"You pick it off of him after your friends killed him?" He laughed.

"They aren't my friends," I felt tears enter my eyes, "and it's non of your business as to why I have it."

I walked out of the workshop and headed strait towards my living quarters, my head pounding and my arms glowing under my blouse. I pushed my door open and slammed it behind me, this wasn't how I was supposed to rise to the top.
