                                                               Chapter 3

Julia and I went out to the store to buy a pregnancy test. I got home and ran to the bathroom to take the test. I was shaking a lot. I wouldn't know what to do if the test was positive.

So, did you do it? Like, pee on the little stick thing?" Julia called from outside of the bathroom.

"Yes, come in, I don't want to see the results alone. Please, tell me." I called outside to Julia.

I watched Julia walk over to the sink to look at the test. I saw her mouth drop open, and I hoped that was a good thing.

"Rachel...It's positive." She said as I ran over to pick up the test. I held it up to the light to see a little plus sign. I couldn't believe it.

Immediately burst into tears. I didn't know what to think. "Jules, what am I going to do? I can't raise a baby! Mr. Harrison is going to get in so much trouble, and my baby won't know who it's father is if it's father is in jail!" I said, I could barely choke out the words.

"Rachel, it's okay. You'll get through this. I'm your best friend and will help you through all of this. Don't worry." Julia comforted me, I liked that.

That night, I got in bed. I looked down at my stomach, it looked bigger than normal. I guessed that I was about four weeks along, judging by the pudginess of my tummy. I hoped that I just looked fat to myself, because if my parents thought I was showing a pregnancy, they'd kill me. I needed to figure out what to say.

I couldn’t sleep, so Mr. Harrison shouldn’t either. I pulled out my phone to call him, “Hi, Mr. Harrison?”

“Hmm?” I heard a sleepy sounding moan coming from the other side.

“It’s me, Rachel. Can I come over? I need to talk to you.”

“I guess…It’s three—“I didn’t let him finish, I immediately called a cab to get to his house.

I called a cab and got a ride to Mr. Harrison's house. I pounded on the door, and didn't stop until he opened it.

"I'm pregnant." I told him as soon as he opened the door.

"It's my baby, right." He told me more than asked me.

"Well, yeah. Why? Why did you not use protection? Why? Why! Now I'm pregnant, and I got pregnant by my teacher! What are you going to do?" I asked him, I blew up. I was so angry, he got me pregnant. It was his fault.

Mr. Harrison ran a hand through his hair, "What am I supposed to do for you? I'll do anything."

"I don't want you. You're a teacher. No one can know that I'm carrying your baby; no one."

I walked back to my house from Mr. Harrison’s.  I decided to go through the park, it would take longer. It was about four o'clock in the morning. I looked down at my reflection in the pond, and tried to cope with the fact that I was pregnant.

"Rachel, you are pregnant. I'm pregnant. I'm going to have a baby." I told myself, it was harder than I thought it'd be.

I sat next to Julia in school that morning, as usual. Mr. Harrison didn't look at me once today. It was weird, I almost missed it. I missed trying to impress him. But, I couldn't think like that, he's a teacher, I'm a student...I'm the student who my teacher got pregnant.

“I’m going to tell my parents tonight…About the baby.” I told Julia while Mr. Harrison was talking.

“What do you think they’ll say?”

“Rachel and Julia? Is there something you’d like to share with us all?” Mr. Harrison asked Julia and me. I shot him a glare, he knew what we were talking about, so he just let it die.

I sat my parents down, that night. "Mom, Dad, Im pregnant." I just let it come out natrually. They both just started in shock.
