6,222 words. Y'all. So tired. Only took about 6 months.
So I've had this idea for a while now. It turned out to be very long and take quite a while. I know my writing really isn't the best, but I do try! I am so sorry this took forever. I was, and am, extremely busy (see my *read meh* chapter for more info on why I've been MIA) I don't really like this as much as some of my others. But I needed to post something. Please don't forget to comment and vote! I answer all comments. This one shot is dedicated to every single person that voted and commented on any of my one shots and who supported me when I really needed it. Thank you all so much. It means the world to me, seriously. I love you guys! Enjoy.

Summary: Joey and Nate are complete opposites. Joey likes loud music and dark colors. Nate likes soft music and light colors. Joey's a night owl, Nate's an early riser. They've been best friends their entire lives. This is a timeline of their story. The first time they met. The first time they stayed over. The first time they comforted each other. The first time they fought. The first time they kissed. The first time they woke up together. The first time their parents found them. The first time one of them moved. The second time they met, the second time they stayed over, the second time they woke up together, and the first time both of them stayed.
Warnings: Minor cursing and homophobic slurs (will be censored), heavily implied 'underage' sex (they're both 16, it's consensual, there's no details, chill), illegal use of cigarettes (I needed them both to be 16 but also needed one of them to smoke so oops sorry don't smoke if you're underage, kids)
Age 5
"Come on, Joey! It'll be fine! You'll get to meet new friends! You'll have so much fun!"
Joey shook his head and stuck his tongue out at his mother. Mrs. Spencer shook her head and bent down to her son's height.
"I know it's scary. But you're brave, aren't you? Strong? You can do this. See those other kids?" -she pointed at a group of kids crying and holding onto their parents- "You're braver than them. You aren't crying. You're strong enough to defeat the dragon. So go on, Joey. Defeat your dragon."
Joey took one last took at his mom before racing off to the kindergarten building. Mrs. Spencer smiled at his retreating figure.
"Wow. I'm impressed. I had to bribe my son with candy before he said he would go in there."
Mrs. Spencer turned to look at the other mom who was standing beside her. She laughed. "I guess I have a gift. Anthea Spencer," she said, holding out her hand.
The mom grasped it firmly. It was rough and had light yellow stains on the fingertips. "Melanie Lewis. Your son's name?"
"Joseph Spencer. And yours?"
"Nathan Lewis."

Joey walked into the building and looked around. It was big. There were a lot of kids running around playing tag. Some were playing House with a few dolls and a small kitchen set. There were kids outside, going down slides and hanging from monkey bars. Joey glanced at a table in the far corner of the very big room. It was nearly empty, except for a small black haired boy with dark skin. He was quietly sitting, drawing on a piece of paper, his small hand grasping a pencil. Joey looked back over to the kids outside, then back to the boy. He walked over to the table.
Nate was startled when someone sat down next to him. He looked up from his drawing. A boy with dirty blonde hair wearing a black t-shirt too large for him was staring back at him.
