Her phone rang again, a few seconds after she'd hung up.

Knowing it would be the boy who'd just called, she didn't bother to check the number, "You're being desperate. I hung up, that means I don't want to talk to you."

"Ouch. You're rude."

"I prefer the adjective 'honest', ever heard of it?"

"Haha."

"Why are you calling me?"

The boy sighs dramatically, "You don't really beat around the bush, do you?"

"No, I don't. But you do, and it's very annoying."

"There you go with the rudeness again. Okay, I'm calling you because..." He trails off for effect.

"Ughhh, get on with it."

"...I like you. In fact, I've liked you for a very long time, I just never had the courage to talk to you."

"Oh my fucking god. First, that's creepy. Second, I have a boyfriend. Third, don't be such a wimp, this isn't third grade when having a crush was a big deal."

He doesn't say anything and she begins to regret what she'd said. Maybe she shouldn't have been so harsh. But to be fair, she had no clue who this boy was. On top of that, he was claiming to like her and repeatedly calling her.

"You know what, Cindy?" He says in a really soft voice, "I was wrong. You're nothing like I thought you would be."

The line goes dead abruptly once again, but this time it wasn't she who hung up.
