Chapter fourteen

Time went on. No Michael. The time seamed like an enurtinty. Ember grew. Shes smart and very cleaver. Cynthia and Courtney both had gotten jobs, well Cynthia did untill she gotten fired from hot topic. She caught somthing on fire in the store. As for Courtney, she works at a dritbike races track, cleaning the bikes. After Cynthia gotten fired, Brandy desided to step up and go job hunting, and she started to work at Starbucks. While Cynthia and I took care of, one year old, Ember. Yes, we skipped a year.

"When do you get off today?" I asked Brandy as she was getting ready for work. "Around seven. Bens walking by after and coming on over to the house." Brandy said smiling. "Big date?" I asked her laughing. "Yes! Dj and I are going too." Cynthia said as she fell on the couch. "Cute. I guess its just going to be me and you Ember." I said looking at her as she waddled over to me. "Up!" She said reaching up for me to pick her up. "Ah. Would you like to watch a movie?" I said smiling at her. She nodded her head as I carried her to the couch and sat her next to Cynthia. "What do you want to watch Ember?" Cynthia asked her. Ember didnt say anything, just crawled over to the couch and picked up the movie, 'Little Vampire.' "Great." I said laughing as I put it in the dvd player. "Shes going to be like her daddy." Cynthia said rolling her eyes. "No." I said looking at Cynthia. "Dadda?" Ember said as she crawled back on the couch. I just smiled at her and went into the kitchen with Brandy. "You okay?" She asked me. "Yeah im fine. Just miss him you know?" I said looking at her. "I know, but he done you wrong." Brany said as she put on her work hat. "I know. Have fun at work." I said as I walked her to the door. "I'll try." Brandy said laughing as she waved at us. "Do you have to work tonight?" Cynthia asked Courtney a she walked into the livingroom and sat in the chair. "Sadly yes. But ya know, I love it." Courtney said smiling. "How late is this race?" I asked her. "It starts at eight." Courtney said rolling her eyes. "Damn I would say you would be home around one or two." I said looking at her. "More then likley." Courtney said laughing a little. "Shh!" Ember said as she watched the movie. "Lets go into the kitchen." I said laughing as Courtney and I started for the kitchen. "You coming?" Courtney asked Cynthia. "Sh! I wanna watch the movie." She said laughing as Ember crawled on her lap. "Cute." I said as we sat at the kitchen table. "Races huh?" I said laughing. "Yeah." Courtney said playing with her hair. "Just going to be me and Ember tonight." I said looking at Ember from the kitchen. "Shes really cute." Courtney said looking at her as well. "She takes after Michael." I said looking at the floor. "Hun, she will, but shes always going to love you." Courtney said looking at me. I just smiled. "I guess lets go watch this movie." I said as we both walked back into the livingroom. I sat next to Cynthia and Ember. "Momma." Ember said as she crawled into my lap. "Is this your favorite movie?" I asked her. "She nodded her head and contuied to watch the movie.

"Hello, welcome to starbucks. How can I help you?" Brandy said to a custamer that was at the desk. "A capatenio." The custamer said. "Name?" She said getting the cup and a marker. "David." He said to her. "Okay, it will be ready in a mintue." Brandy said smiling. "So, its getting close for you to get off. Do I get to meet your boyfriend?" One of the other workers, Kayla, asked her. "Yes, you can meet my boyfriend." Brandy said smiling and laughing. "Sweet. Im exited. Tell me about him." Kayla said as they walked to a table. "Well lets see. Hes in a band, plays guitar, sweet. I love him." Brandy said staring off in space. "Okay Brandy, do I need to leave you and hte wall alone for a mintue?" Kayla said laughing. "Oh hush!" Brandy said slapping her lightly. They both laughed.

A few mintues of talking, a fermilur face walks in and up to the counter. "Lets get this custamer." Kayla said as her and Brandy walked back to the counter. "Hello, welcome to Starbucks can I-" Brandy stopped talking when she saw who it was. "Brandy?" Michael said looking shocked. "Um, Kayla take this one." Brandy said looking for Kayla, who was in the kitchen. "Why dont you want to take my order?" Michael said smiling evily. "I dont want to talk to you." Brandy said hateful. "Well, I'll just leave, if you tell me where Cyndy and Ember are." Michael said getting closer to her. Brandy stepped back. "No, im not telling you. You are not going to go near them." Brandy said glaring at Michael. "Yes I am." Michael said snatching for her arm, but she jerked away and Kayla came back to the counter. "Whats going on?" Kayla asked walking up to Brandy. "Tell him to leave. Hes not welcome here." Brandy said in a hateful tone. "Why?" Kayla asked confussed. "Hes vilent." Brandy said stairing at Michael. "I am not vilent. As for your infermation, I stopped drinking." Michael said smart. "Likley story." Brandy said smart as well. "Okay, maybe you should leave." Kayla said looking at Michael. "Whatever you say, but I will find Cyndy and Ember." Michael said as he left Starbucks. "What was that about, who was he? And why did he want your friend?" Kayla asked Brandy. "Thats her ex I told you about. That hit it about a year ago." Brandy said watching the door. "Oh wow. Im glad he left then." Kayla said looking at the door as well.

"Is the kitchen clean?" Brandy asked Kayla. "Yeah, I belivie so. Wheres your boyfriend?" Kayla asked as they started out of Starbucks. "Im not sure." Brandy said looking around as Kayla locked the door to Starbucks. "Is that him?" Kayla said pointing down the sidewalk. "I belivie so." Brandy said smiling as Ben walked up to him. "Whats up babe?" Ben said as he kissed Brandy. "This is my friend Kayla." Brandy said smiling at him and interducing Kayla. "Nice to meet you. You are cute." Kayla said laughing. "I get that alot." Ben said laughing. "So your a guitar player?" Kayla asked him. "Yup, been playing for years. About to go on tour in a few days. Thats why im taken Brandy out after I walk her home to change first." Ben said smiling at Brandy. "Aww, how romantic. I will let you all be n your then." Kayla said smiling as she waved to both of them and walked up the sidewalk. "Did you have fun at work?" Ben asked Brandy as they started home. "It was alright. We had a vister today." Brandy said rolling her eyes. "Who?" Ben asked her. "Someone we havent seen in a year." Brandy said smirking. "Michael?" Ben said sounding shocked. "Yupp." Brandy said looking at the ground. "Wow, what did he do?" Ben asked. "He tried to get me to tell him where Cyndy and Ember was, but I didnt tell him." Brandy said looking at Ben. "Thats all? Then he just, left?" Ben said surprized. "Yeah, now that I think about it, that is werid for him." Brandy said sounding worried. "Did you hear that?" Ben said turning around. There was a snap sounding coming behind them. "I dont know. Im just glad were almost home." Brandy said as they contuied walking down the sidewalk. "I hate hearing things." Ben said laughing. "I do to, but lets take our mind off it. You think Cynthia and Dj are ready?" Brandy asked Ben. "I dont know, you know Cynthia. She takes forever." Ben said laughing. "True." Brandy said laughing as well.
