Appearance: [reference photo below] The most striking thing about Em is her eyes- her large, turquoise, goblin eyes. There's something about them that just isn't natural, a kind of liquid depth that almost seems to glow if the lighting is right. They're a stark contrast to her naturally raven hair and thick dark eyebrows, the brow bone arching high upon her face. Her hair, however, is usually anything but natural; she keeps half her head shaved, and changes colours about once a month (it's currently dark on top, blonde in the middle and fading into wine red). Her skin has a very slight greyish undertones, yet another tribute to her goblin heritage. Her angel blood, however, is much less apparent: two purplish shiny scars on her shoulder blades that she, ironically, tattooed over with black angel wings.
Speaking of tattoos, the girl has many; in addition to the one on her back, she also has intricate sleeve tattoos upon both arms, and a ring of thorns around her left ankle, to name a few. She also has multiple ear piercings and a septum ring.
Personality: Em is the kind of person you can never pin down, and from the second you lay eyes on her you know it. You can count yourself lucky if she agrees to meet with you more than once, never mind anything long-term. When things go wrong in her life, Emerson doesn't fix them; she cuts ties and runs. To Em, being attached equals being dependent, and being dependent is unacceptable. When it comes to life, she's as greedy as it gets; she wants to live life to the fullest, to experience the whole world, and the only way she can do that is if nothing and no one is there to drag her down. Her only philosophy is that rules were made to be broken. She's blunt, reckless, and is the strangest mixture of poetry and profanity, of cynicism, idealism, and survivalism. Innately, Emerson is capable of a fierce and protective love, and she knows it, but she'll never open herself up to that "weakness" again, not after the first time went wrong.
Backstory: That first time was Em's mother. Emerson's mother divorced her alcoholic father when Em was thirteen, and after that the young girl took it on herself to be her mother's protector. The two were extremely close, and her mother always said she'd never need anyone else as long as she had Em. But two years later, her mother remarried, and suddenly Em had an older stepbrother, named Juniper. She saw that as the greatest betrayal of her life. She felt her mother had replaced her with both her stepfather and stepbrother. And so she ran away from home, and has been living on her own since then, bar-hopping, shop-lifting, and doing whatever she feels like, and cutting ties and moving somewhere else whenever something starts to feel too much like a home, or someone starts to look like more than a hook-up. She has had no contact with any family member since she left.
Other: She has two phrases incorporated into the tattoos on her arm, just random sayings she heard in her travels and liked enough to keep. "Liberty or Death" and "The World Is Not Enough."
Neither she nor her family have any idea of their supernatural blood.
