Appearance: Juniper is undeniably handsome: full, upturned lips, a strong jaw, and alluring jet-black eyes. His hair is raven and is always very carefully styled to look careless, strands falling into his face. He isn't very tall, only about 5'9, but he's got a fairly muscular build and broad shoulders. His canine teeth are a little sharper than most, though it's nothing outstanding. His angelic heritage manifests a little differently; there are no scars on his back, but his tan skin has an almost golden shimmer to it. [see reference below]
Personality: On the outside, Juniper is very confident, even to the point of being vain and into himself. He's good looking, he knows it, and he likes others to as well, and often draws attention to himself (though usually in a subtle way). Juniper is a protective, caring person; in fact it's what he prizes most about himself. He's willing to do whatever it takes to keep his loved ones safe, which to him means often taking the heat for his family and friends. Though this seems like his best quality, it's also his greatest weakness. All of Juniper's self worth rests on the shoulders of his relationships with other people. He often sacrifices what he actually wants for what they want him to be. After all, if he can't protect those he cares about, will anyone love him? Juniper's love can also be overbearing in his eagerness to keep people safe, even to the point of being unconsciously manipulative, as he slowly convinces people to become reliant upon him. Jun's deep insecurities often keep him up at night, manifesting in the form of guilt. Very deep beneath his vanity, he thinks that he's deserving of nothing, and all that he does is desperate attempt to change that.
Backstory: As a child, Juniper had a lot of friends, and with them he'd talk about girls, sports, video games, whatever it was he was supposed to. But when he got home, it was then Jun could indulge in what he really loved: mythology, cryptozoology, weird history, any kind of strange things like that. Juniper's mother died of cancer when he was eleven. This effected him deeply; it caused the boy to start to hold on to those he loved even tighter. One can't really make a living out of chasing Bigfoot, and so Jun chose to go into psychology, as just another way of helping people. However....his heart isn't in it. He's doing it because he thinks he's supposed to. It wasn't until many years later, when Juniper was -- that his father remarried. Juniper was determined to go into that with an open heart and to take his new mother and sister under his wing. However, he never anticipated Emerson. He became fascinated with her, almost to the point of infatuation, maybe because of how much she didn't need him. But tension quickly grew between them, and when Em ran away, Jun resented her immensely, seeing her as selfish and callous, even arguing that he loved her mother more than she did.
Other: He has an irrational fear of the dark. As a child, he was utterly terrified by it.
