GenTwo spent most of her time laying in bed, marinating her heart in hatred. To whom or what this hate was directed was becoming unclear even to her. So, she'd settled on hating everyone and everything.
Her preferred method of soaking herself in a bath of loathing was to remember the exact moment her life went down the drain. She would lay on her side, curled up in the fetal position as she allowed her mind to travel to the darkest day of her life. She had been only six when she saw Morrigeth for the first time. The Angel she was made to kill. No... not kill. Destroy. Annihilate. Obliterate. Uh... What were other words that meant destroy? Never mind, she was getting off track anyway. Where was she? Oh yeah, Morrigeth had come into the forest, no doubt to finish the disgusting job she'd started. She had her gun pointed at poor Serena the moment they made eye contact. She remembered plenty of yelling, though she wasn't sure what it was about. Not that it mattered much. She only clearly remembered the important part of that conversation. Namely, the end of it, in which Morrigeth finally pulled the trigger and ended Serena's life in a blast of lightning. Serena, being such a small fairy, had no chance of surviving such an attack, especially from an Angel. GenTwo had burned with rage she didn't know she was capable of then, but now felt on a regular basis. She tried her hardest to fight her, kill her if she had to, but a little girl scared out of her wits was no match for a grown woman with years of experience. Morrigeth, probably knowing that killing a child would land her in trouble, instead dragged GenTwo to this godforsaken place known as the Holding Plane, where she now resided.
The Holding Plane was a separate plane of existence from Almina, where the mortals lived. It was one of the many planes of existence that those who were fully material could never reach until their souls left their bodies upon death. GenTwo, being a clone of an Angel, had a body that was only partially material and therefore could enter the Holding Plane without a problem.
Well... There was a problem. GenTwo didn't want anything to do with the Holding Plane. The longer she spent there, the more time she was wasting when she should be preparing to fulfill her purpose of killing Morrigeth.
These were the thoughts that were going through her head that morning, as they did most mornings. Due to the violent tendencies she exhibited when she was younger, she had no cellmates and the only ones that she could talk to were the guards that watched her from a translucent magical wall. All of the other walls in the cell were made of magically reinforced steel that she could never break. This hadn't stopped her from trying a few times, but she had eventually given up on any hope that she'd be able to escape this horrible place. Even worse, her immortality wouldn't allow even death to save her. Her sharp fangs and nails sunk into her hole-riddled pillow as she thought of this. Even if she was powerless, at least her hate could make her feel strong.
One of the guards, a new one, interrupted her thoughts. One of her ears pricked up and faced him as he whispered cautiously to the older, more experienced guard next to him. "Should we wake her?" he asked.
GenTwo almost laughed at the young man. What an idiot. Couldn't he tell she wasn't asleep?
Siegfried, the older guard, seemed to think so, too, though he wasn't as harsh about it. "Just leave her be," he told the younger guard. "She's always like this."
"Okay... I-it's just that she skipped breakfast, so I thought... Never mind."
"It's alright," Siegfried replied.
"Man, they weren't kidding when they said she was a strange one."
"Well, what do you expect from a clone?" Siegfried lowered his voice to an ineffective whisper. "I hear they're never right in the he-"
