Lady Nora sat upon the bench behind her small dressing table where she had sat unmoved since the departure of Katherine but now the door to the bedroom opened and Lady Charleston wondered into the room before she sat settling herself onto the edge of Lady Nora's bed, "Why shall they even be here at all if you are intending to undo the entail?" Lady Nora asked.
"Your father believes that the entail guidelines cannot be broken," Lady Charleston said.
"However you will still try?" Lady Nora asked.
"Granny and I are entitled to try," Lady Charleston said.
"And Papa is apposed," Lady Nora asked.
"We shall bring your father around alas we are attempting to locate a lawyer who shall take on the case however on another note what are they like?" Lady Charleston asked.
"Cousin Henrietta seems nice enough however Cousin Jack seems to be rather quite full of himself," Lady Nora said.
"Why do you say that?" Lady Charleston asked.
Lady Nora rose to her feet from behind her dressing table as she pulled on a pair of black evening gloves, "It is just an impression," Lady Nora turned away from the dressing table mirror to face her mother, "shall we go down and you can decide upon them fir yourself," Lady Nora said.
Jeffrey Birch opened the large oak door of Charnswell Park before he held the front door open to allow for Mrs Brandon and Jack to enter the house after exiting the Ford T. Town Car to wonder into the small entrance hall were Jeffrey and Dale took the coats before Jack Brandon and his mother moved towards the Great Hall were they were met by Lord Charleston, "Hello again," Lord Charleston extended to shake hands with Jack, "It is a pleasure to meet you at last, Mrs Brandon," Lord Charleston said greeting Mrs Brandon.
"We are quite delighted to be here are we not, Jack?" Mrs Brandon asked.
"Delighted," Jack said.
Lord Charleston led Mrs Brandon and her son, Jack from the small entrance hall and through the glass double doors into the Great Hall as the group entered the Great Hall to discover Rosabella Brandon, Dowager Countess of Charleston; Julianna Brandon, Countess of Charleston and the daughters to their left however across the hall stood Mr Benjamin Westfall, Butler; Mrs Noelle Mills, Housekeeper and the house staff on either side of them. Lady Charleston stepped forwards from between The Dowager Countess and Lady Nora to approached her Husband with their guests, "Welcome to Charnswell," Lady Charleston said.
"Thank you, Lady Charleston, you have all been so rather kind," Mrs Brandon said.
Jack nodded his head in agreement into the direction of his mother before he looked into the direction of the Charnswell servants, "Quite a reception committee," Jack said.
Lady Charleston, The Dowager Countess and the girls were rather surprised and amused by the comment which Jack had spoken in regard to the servants gathering, "Yes, Thank you," Mrs Brandon said sensing the awkwardness of the atmosphere.
Lord Charleston wondered over to Mr Westfall, "This is Westfall which we would be in terrible strife without him," Lord Charleston moved away from Mr Westfall and across to his mother. "Mama, may I present Jack Brandon and Mrs Brandon. My Mother, Lady Charleston," Lord Charleston said.
Mrs Brandon smiled before she stepped foreword towards The Dowager Countess while she approached with her hand outstretched, "What shall we call each other?" Mrs Brandon asked.
"We could always begin with Mrs Brandon and Lady Charleston," The Dowager Countess stated.
Lady Charleston approached Mrs Brandon to lightly place her hand upon Mrs Brandon's shoulder, "Shall we go into the Drawing Room and we can make all the proper introductions," Lady Charleston said and she guided Mrs Brandon from the Great Hall for the Drawing Room.
