Jack Brandon and Rosabella Brandon, The Dowager Countess of Charleston wondered from Charnswell Park towards the Ford T. Town Car which the chauffeur, Mr John Maple had brought around for Mr Jack Brandon and his mother while Mr Zachariah Orson brought the Dowager Countess's motor, "I am sorry that Nora was rather poisonous this evening," The Dowager Countess said.
Jack chuckled before he opened the door for The Dowager Countess, "I doubt that Cousin Nora and I are destined to be close friends," Jack said.
"Alas," The Dowager Countess said.
"I do not blame her because alas her father's home and her mother's money is to be passed directly onto me which is quite harsh," Jack said.
The Dowager Countess turned and looked into the face of Jack with the thought that she had not thought about before until Jack held the motor door open for her, "What if we were able to set the entail into Nora's favour?" The Dowager Countess asked.
"I should accept that with the most grace which I can muster," Jack said.
"Would you?" The Dowager Countess approached the open door of the motor passing Jack as he held the door open for her and Mr Orson as he stood beside Jack, "Well good evening, Orson," The Dowager Countess said as she climbed into the car.
"Good evening, My Lady," Mr Orson nodded to The Dowager Countess before he approached Jack, "may I take the door, sir," Mr Orson said taking the door from Jack Brandon.
"Thank you," The Dowager Countess said before Mr Orson closed the door behind The Dowager Countess while Mr Maple brought the Ford T. Town Car around once The Dowager Countess's motor had gone.
Mrs Mills wondered into the Servant's Corridor from the Service Stairwell before she stepped into the Butler's Pantry were she found Mr Westfall standing before his desk with the silver store cupboard door open behind him, "I shall say goodnight to you Mr Westfall," Mrs Mills said.
Mr Westfall approached Mrs Mills while he was holding one of the good silver candelabrum which was a usually used for the upstairs Dining Room, "Look at this scratch we shall have to see it mended while they are up in London," Mr Westfall said.
Mrs Mills wondered closer to Mr Westfall which allowed for her to take a closer look at the silver candelabrum, "You are hardly able to see it," Mrs Mills said.
"I shall know that it is present," Mr Westfall said.
"Are you alas all right Mr Westfall, because you seemed upset earlier," Mrs Mills said.
"I am sorry about that because I was just a little tired," Mr Westfall said.
"No, wonder but how did the dinner go?" Mrs Mills asked.
"Well, enough but alas they shall not make a match between them if that was the what you were thinking," Mr Westfall said as he returned the candelabrum to the silver store cupboard.
"Lady Nora does not seem to like him?" Mrs Mills asked.
Mr Westfall closed the door to the silver store cupboard before he turned to face Mrs Mills as she remained standing in the doorway to the Butler's Pantry, "Why should she like the mane that she has been passed over got and why has she been because alas that is what would like to know?" Mr Westfall asked.
"Because alas Mr Westfall it is the Law," Mrs Mills said.
"It is a rather wicked Law," Mr Westfall said.
Miss Pamela Callahan wondered from the back door of Charnswell Park and out into the courtyard after she had dressed Lady Charleston. Miss Callahan looked across the courtyard to see Jeffrey sitting at a small wooden table with a clock before him before she wondered across the courtyard to sit at the bench beside Jeffrey as he tinkered with the clock and she lit herself a cigarette, "Why does Mr Westfall let you do that?" Miss Callahan said.
