Veronica is mid way through her walk to Kansas Cafe when she gets a vision.
Veronica falls onto a nearby bench and the vision floods into her mind.
"She's here! I can feel it! I saw it too." The girl tells her cat. "I'm going to find her. Something about a cafe? I'm going to go to work with mum today and see if she shows up. Hopefully..."
The girl fades away and Veronica opens her eyes. All the pieces are slowly coming together, but she's missing something big.
Veronica carries on walking until she reaches the main city of Kansas. She smiles and looks down at her map.
"It should be right there!" Veronica points down a street, and sure enough, a shop with 'Kansas Cafe' written on the top is there.
Veronica rummages around with the coins in her pocket, prepared to buy something. She covers her face with her beanie, and walks in.
The sound of singling bells and the smell of coffee great her as she enters. The cafe is small, but cute and well arranged.
Veronica stands in line for the register. A young girl takes her order. "One mocha please." Veronica hands over her money.
The girl behind the register keeps looking around the shop. "looking for someone?" Veronica laughs, as the girl hands over her change.
"Yeah. It's complicated." The girl laughs. Veronica nods and waits over at the side. The girl looks oddly familiar to Veronica.
The same girl comes over with two coffees. She hands Veronica's to her. "My shift just finished. Want to sit?" The girl offers.
Veronica nods and they head over to a couch. "Vanessa." She sticks out her hand and Veronica shakes it. "Veronica."
Vanessa looks shocked to hear that name. "What?" Veronica laughs. "Sorry, it's just, could you?" She gestures for Veronica to take off her glasses and beanie.
Veronica nods and removes her accessories. Vanessa gasps. "R...Roni?" She asks with tears in her eyes.
Vanessa indulges Veronica into a huge bear hug. "I'm going to kill mum." Vanessa snarls.
"Um, sorry I'm confused?" Veronica asks.
"Yes, there is a lot of explaining to do." Vanessa sighs, then Starts to explain.
"We are twin sisters. Hard to believe right?" Vanessa laughs. Veronica gasps. "What?"
"Yeah. So we got split at birth, and you and dad moved to California. The only thing is, dad never told you about me, and mum told me that you were dead, and they split up when I was born." Vanessa continues.
Veronica listens in awe at Vanessa's story. "I kept having visions of your life...." Vanessa starts but Veronica chimes in. "I had visions of your life? That makes sense now!" Veronica says, finally connecting the pieces.
"Yes, anyway, I knew you were coming, so I planned to meet you. I didn't think it would work though!" Vanessa laughs.
"We need to confront mum." Vanessa says sternly, grabbing Veronicas hand. Veronica smiles, and pulls her sister into a hug.
"I feel like I found my other half." Veronica mumbles into Vanessa's hair. "I love you." Vanessa wipes a tear out of her eye and they walk hand in hand to the back of the cafe.
They find their mother and she stops in her tracks. "Care to explain?" Vanessa crosses her arms angrily.
"Veronica?" Her mother asks confused. Veronica nods and her mother pulls her into a hug. "Not here. Meet me at home at my break."
The twins nod and head out.
