It's Veronica // Merrell Twins [completed]

"Where are we going?" Wendy asks, as Paul drives her to a secret location.

"You'll see." Paul smiles secretly.

They pull up at a beach and Wendy smiles.

"Where we came on our first date." She grins.

"Let's go to the water." Paul suggests, holding Wendy's hand.

With his spare hand he reaches into his pocket and clasps the little box with his fingers.

"So Wendy." Paul starts when they reach the waters edge, water and sand washing over their bare feet.

"I've been thinking. I know we have only been together for 6 weeks after 20 years of being spit up, but we were together 10 years before that, and so I feel like it is okay to ask you this."

"I miss you Wendy. I really do, so I just want to know..." He kneels down on one knee and pulls out the box.

"Will you marry me? Again?" He laughs, holding the box up to her.

People on the beach cheer as Wendy nods her head, pulling Paul in for a hug.

He slips the ring on her finger and they walk back to the car, sitting in in and talking for three hours.

"OH MY GOSH FINALLY!!!" The twins scream as Wendy shows them the ring.

"Life is going to be good from now on." The family hugs, finally feeling like a family.

"Let's go Nessa we are going to miss the bus!" Veronica laughs, pulling her sister along.

The big green bus pulls up in front of them and the two get on. "Santa Monica please." Veronica smiles, handing over her cash.

"That's a long way.." The driver says while giving her back change.

"Going to find another family member?" He smirks, lifting up his hat.

"Jack!" Veronica smiles, giving him a huge hug.

"This is my sister who I found when I went to find my mum. This is Vanessa." Veronica introduces her.

"Nice to meet you. Now get on, let's take you to the pier."  Jack grins.

No one else is on the bus, so Veronica and Vanessa sit up the front, talking to Jack.

"I did what you said Veronica, I got a cooking job. This is my last week of bus driving then I become a full time chef." He smiles.

"That is so amazing! We will defiantly come by the restaurant. Hey, you should come for dinner tonight! We can all thank you for helping get my family together again." Veronica smiles.

"I can't sorry, Thumpers got a vet appointment and I need to pack my stuff for movie to a nicer apartment next week. But Thank you Veronica, for helping me. But I guess we are on an even playing field. Now."

Jack wipes a tear from his eye.

"Imma miss you kiddo." He grins, pulling Veronica in for a hug as the bus stops.

"Thank you Jack. Seriously, thank you." Veronica smiles as her and her sister get off the bus.

"Oh hey!" Jack says before he closes the doors.

"I'll always remember your name correctly." He smiles

"It's Veronica."

This book was so fun to write, the twins freaking read it! I enjoyed writing it, it was just a little blob inside my head and it turned into a story. It got over 3.5k reads and was my first short story.
