It has been roughly two weeks since the ball and two weeks since I've met my mate.

I haven't told anyone that Alpha Malachi was my mate, not even my mother. She attended the ball and continuously asks me why I left and disrespected Malachi like that. She saw my little moment and didn't approve.

I could only tell her that I didn't feel comfortable, that I needed to leave but she didn't have a look of belief on her face.

Zadie on the other hand, she was freaking out. She was so shocked that I got to meet Alpha Malachi and that I got to touch him. I had to explain that I felt disgusted every time he touched me, so nobody got the memo.

I was now at my family's mansion, eating breakfast with my parents when the butler came in and informed my mother that we had visitors. Nothing really passed my mind as it being urgent so I never felt the need to leave. It's probably just family.

The doors opened, revealing the one and only Luna Aliane. My stomach suddenly did a 360 and I felt sick. I hope and pray that Malachi isn't here. I couldn't handle that right now. I couldn't handle him right now.

My father noticed my discomfort and told me that I could leave the room for a second. Taking this opportunity, I ran to the connecting hallway and opened a stained glass window. The cool winter breeze hit my face and calmed me down instantly.

My mother called for me, leaving me to take a few more breaths of cold air before being back in the awkwardness. I pushed the wooden double doors open, my breath catching in the back of my throat, as I thought my eyes were deceiving me.

Malachi sat directly across from my chair, with a plate of food set neatly in front of him, looking oddly delicious.

...The food, the food.

I walked with wobbly legs to my chair, sitting down. I kept my gaze glued to my plate as the conversations continued around me.

My mother broke me from my thoughts asking me to not be so disrespectful, making me lift my eyes up and stare directly at Malachi. The man across from me, kept his gaze on me the whole time, darting his eyes, eyeing me up and down.

"May I help you?" I snapped at him.

"Rayne Marie!" My mother gasped in disbelief. "Show some manners child!"

"Sorry Mother, I can't eat when I have someone staring at me 24/7, like I have something wrong with me," I slapped my silverware down. "Excuse me."

I stood up from my chair, the screeching against the floor making me cringe, and left the three adults in shock. Malachi was the only one who seems amused and he seemed to be more childish than anything. I honestly didn't care though, I'm not going to be put in an uncomfortable situation in my own home.

I walked down multiple hallways, until I reached the front door. Opening it and walking out with no care in the world, until I bumped into a familiar chest.

Looking up, I recognized the face from the ball. It was the same man I bumped into there. The same dark hair and perfectly defined face.

"I'm so sorry...again,"I covered my mouth and shook my head. "What are the odds."

He smoothly sighed, slightly amused. "We need to stop meeting like this! Maybe this is sign. What is your name?"
