Calum's POV

I let out a laugh as Michael and Luke chased each other across the back of the venue, laughing as they ran around the buses.

I felt a bit bubbly and light from the two beers I had back at the restaurant.

I wince as Ashton shouted for them to get back onto the bus.

As we got closer to the buses, the crew split up and said their goodnights.

I watched quietly as the others made their way to the other buses.

Their backs were hunched after years and years of working on the road.

Arms limp from the long days of working.

They walked slowly but they seemed somewhat free from the help of alcohol.

I liked noticing these things, it puts things into a new perspective.

I smile to myself, reminiscing on all the times where we would be on the road, and I would catch Danny staring out the window.

She always had this distant look when she was deep in thought.

She even pointed out a few things about photography and videography to me.

"Whatcha looking at?" I whisper.

The van was quietly humming on the road, following the smooth path laid before us. Everyone else was taking a short nap after being woken up before the sun started rising.

"Hmmm?"

She diverts her eyes from the window and meets mine.

"Whatcha looking at?"

Streaks of light casted a warm glow to her sleepy smile.

"The sky..."

Stray hairs tucked beneath her beanie tickled my cheek as I leaned into her. We both peer out the window, catching a glimpse of the pale blue sea up above us.

"Can you see the stars?" she says softly.

Her gentle voice in the early mornings bringing comfort to my ears.

"Mhmm"

I lay my head softly on her shoulder and continue searching the sky.

"If you look closely... it seems like they're being chased away by the sun..."

Little specks of white were letting out their last twinkle.

Basking in the sight of the morning, we watched in silence.

With my head perfectly fitting the crook of her neck, I let myself slowly fall for her.

As we melted into each other, I felt her hand reach out for mine. Our arms and fingers laced together as a whole, and her head rested on mine.

"I wonder if they ever felt sad to disappear every morning."

"The stars?" I ask.

"Mhmm."

I draw soft circles on her hand with my thumb.

"Well... they're always going to be there."

"Mmmm... daylight or not..." she wondered out loud.

I guess she taught me to look at things with a new point of view.
