Danny's POV
Calum's head turns to my direction with surprise and he gives me a weak wave. I couldn't help but chuckle at him as I walked closer.
His hair was slicked back with wetness, a few droplets of water suspended on his jet black curls. I couldn't help but notice how lean his arms looked in his T-shirt. It was one of his favorite shirts to sleep in. It was a soft tone of grey, and the collar had been stretched out from how often he wore it on the bus. He was barefoot and a pair of basketball shorts hung loosely on his hips.
"Whatcha doing?" I ask.
He tilts his head to the side and rubs the back of his neck with a groan, "Michael locked me out, it's payback for the waxing"
I grimace, "Damn. Sorry I dragged you into this Cal."
"It's okay, don't worry about it," he gives me his signature heart-melting smile. I catch myself before I stare too long at him and move towards the door.
I copy the stance he was in a few seconds ago and knock on the door.
"Michaellllllll, it's Dannyyy. Let Calum back in the rooooooommmm!!!!"
"Noppeeeeee," Michael yells back.
"It's not his faultttttttttttt, you can get back at me all you want next timeeeee," I try.
"Nooo," he responds.
I roll my eyes at Michael and a smirk creeps onto Calum's lips, "I've tried that for the past 5 minutes," he laughs.
Michael's voice comes out clearer and I could imagine him standing on the other side of the door, "I'm going to get you both back, just you wait!!"
"Please Michaellll, just let Calum back innnn," I beg.
"Nooope."
"I'll buy you food at the airport?" I try.
There's a pause before Michael yells back, "Not good enough!"
I give Calum a sympathetic look and he shakes his head with a smile, "I don't think he's going to budge anytime soon."
"You can stay in my room," I suggest. I nodded my head down the hall, "―until Michael loosens that wedgie up his ass," I yelled at the door.
"That's not helping your case!" Michael replies.
Calum lets out a deep laugh as I lead him towards my suite. The carpet softens the scuffle of our feet, and the sound of moving ice clinks gently. Rows of identical cream colored doors follow one after another. The decorative paintings adorn the walls are accented by intricately carved golden frames. We shuffle through the hallway, filling the night with sounds that seem like we're the only one's still awake.
My door lets out a little beep! when the key card slips out and a green light blinks.
I set down the things in my hands when I turned around to see Calum flop onto my bed. He shoots me a wicked grin while he buries himself into the duvet.
I laugh and roll my eyes at his childish side.
"Did you eat yet?" I ask.
He shakes his head and pulls the duvet up to his chin, "I was going to order something but he kicked me out."
I make my way across the room and hand him the hotel menu, "here, I just called them a few minutes ago. Hopefully they can bring everything up at the same time."
I climb over his legs and get underneath the covers on the other side of the bed. I snuggle into the sheets and try to get comfortable. The pillows resting behind my back cushion my weight and give me a sense of warm security.
The bright TV light sends the shadows of the room flickering as the opening sequence of Friends plays. I hum along with the theme song that I had memorized by heart over time.
